If it was then it'd have been noticed. The gap between the floor and the tyre is actually quite large. It's something anybody would notice.

The tyre wasn't cut, it was off the rim before it stopped. It wouldn't be the kerb causing it, but the kerb gave it a more extreme situation to act on. Had he not hit the kerb like that, it'd have failed a corner or 2 later in the high speed stuff.

But equally, he managed to complete the formation lap without problems. I know they're not at racing speed but they're still chucking the car left and right. It's just an odd incident.

BBC showed Button's onboard from the start. Saw smoke coming from Vettel's right rear, so maybe there was something already there at the start
