Judging by God Save The Queen being played, you've been invaded. Sorry, liberated. :p

(Yes I know the thread title. :p )

McLaren were strong in S1, so maybe they will be close again in Budapest. Either way, I can't see Vettel losing the championship unless Lewis goes on an unbelievable streak.

Hamilton, with the moves he made. But Sutil drove a brilliant race too. The only driver within a lap not driving for the top 3 teams.

If McLaren can get both cars qualifying like Hamilton did yesterday then they can beat RBR. They've got the race pace.

Sniff was quite humorous this afternoon, worth a read

Need gravel at Turn 10 - that'd put Vettel out :p

Let's hope Vettel has more days like this, he really was poor today. Too much pressure from the media at his home race? He struggled with brakes but that must have been a massive problem to loose so much time.

It was amazing to see 3 different cars fight for the lead for the entire race, not only did they pass by strategy but also with overtaking moves

Don't understand why they let Webber stay out that long on his last softs, you could see that Hamilton was on Webbers pace on his outlap on the mediums. Normally you call your driver in then like Ferrari did. Don't Red Bull want Webber to win?

And why did no one gamble for a longer stint on mediums? They weren't as slow as predicted. Massa could possibly have saved 4th place with that if he only did 2 stops and did a long last stint on the mediums. I think teams are too conservative and all do the same thing. For the top 3 it was logical to all do a super short stint on mediumn but when you're on the back foot you need to gamble sometimes. Doing the same as the guys in front of you won't help you catch and pass them.

Horner saying that Vettel never found a balance, and then the spin flat spotted the tyres. It was "similar to 2009 here [at this circuit". Makes sense really, everyone has up and down circuits, but he was still poor today.

So Vettel spun, ran wide, locked tyres at virtually every turn, had a brake problem and spent most of his day going slowly.

And still took 4th.

Also, he had 50/50 setup for dry/wet.

Nice battle around halfway point for the lead between Webber, Alonso and Hamilton. Solid drive by Lewis and deserved victory.

Season is looking like 2009 at the moment. One man dominating every race in the first half of the season, until his home GP after which he can't win a single race again. I hope.

And as in 2009, the man dominating couldn't win the Chinese GP :p

Was a very good race.

As Ellis said, the DRS was good because - apart from in the case of Schumacher on Petrov - it was not just a free pass like it was in Turkey and Canada. It brought the drivers closer, assisting them down into Turn 1.

With regards to the championship, Vettel still has a 77 point lead. Even if he has 3 retirements, he'll still turn up in Singapore with the lead and thats assuming he has a constant challenger, whether that be Alonso, Webber or Hamilton. So far, that hasn't been the case. He already has 216 points out of a possible 250. There's 225 still avalaible, yet 148 more points will win him the title, irrespective of what anyone else does. Seeing as he isn't going to get a consistent challenger, he only really needs another 75 points or maybe just reach 300 to be safe. He just needs to bring home the points.

Also, rule 43.3 says the car should reach parc ferme. Therefore Vettel might get a few more points anyway

I'm sure you could see a wheelnut rolling away on the Massa stop.

I think McLaren were helped a lot this weekend by the low temperatures.

We saw at Silverstone that in the damp few laps at the start & when they 1st put slicks on, The Mclaren was faster because it got the tyre temps up faster, Then after 3-4 laps when everyone got there upto temp the Mclaren's started to lose time.

Was similar today, Hamilton was super fast initially but then Alonso & Webber started to come back at him after a couple laps & on all the soft tyre stints Hamilton was fast at the start but Alonso & Webber were catching him as the stint went on.

I know, but that could be why it was a slow one. They had to switch to the spare one?
