Really really bad coverage. I'm disappointed.

I can understand but it was half a lap to go. I'm pretty sure in hindsight he'll find it pretty brainless, he just wasn't close enough to Button to still make 2nd.

I hope not to jinx it, but I was pretty much losing any confidence in Kimi since his Sauber days after German GP and now it is 100% re-gained. I don't know, maybe Felipe (heal fast, boy!) offered too much pressure for Kimi to get the maximum of that Ferrari, but now it is so great to see Kimster back in action.

Kimi can't retire just yet, he still has the pace in him and tbh, he is not only a fast driver, he is one hell of a team-player too. Be next year's Ferrari great again and I'm sure he CAN gain the title of "absolutely one of the best currently in F1 grid".

You know, carbon fibre has a tendency to break instead of bending. It could have easily been a rear suspension failure.

I'll wait for the confimation though.

So everytime Hamilton crashes its technical or other drivers fault?

I'm not a fan of him and I was guessing it was a driving error, just wanted be sure about it and to hear if he would come up with some excuse. And so he did.

The reason I left possibility for technical failure open was the fact that with carbon fiber, a fracture can make a perfectly fine car in to a scrap with an instant. It has happened many times before, for example David Coulthard at Malaysia or Timo Glock at Hockenheim last year.

Btw, is it just me or are BMWs basically with a broken front wing after every race beginning? :p

Shame to lose them, but tbh, the most sterile team in current F1 giving no inspiring impression for a F1 fan.

Hamilton was stupid, he couldn't catch Button and couldn't be overtaken by Raikkonen, so why puch that hard? Is a possibly fastest lap really word the risk? See what it got him, nothing!

Jenson was catching up a backmarker, so that gave the last chance for Lewis to attack.

so in half a lap time (4 or 5 corners to go) he could make up 3 secs + pass Button?

He was 1 second behind. Still I doubt he could've done it with only Ascari and Parabolica coming up. At the moment Hamilton crashed he had no chance in doing so anymore.

Lewis was 1 second behind Jenson when they started final lap. If backmarker had slowed Jenson down in 1-2 corners, then it could´ve been possible to make a charge with KERS on straights in final sector.

He had made up 0.3s in S1 so was 0.7 behind and there was traffic ahead, but I still dont think he could have done it

Well I give him credit for trying and pushing hard, and giving us a bit of excitement in the final moments of the race.

But how much KERS Hamilton had used at the point he crashed? He was so much faster that he may have used it more than usual. I think mostly the KERS was used after first chicane and after Parabolica. But since it's very short run from Parabolica to finish line I think Lewis had planned not to have anything there.

FOM were awful this weekend. The only good point where the new camera before the second chicane, and the new angle in Parabolica during the race. But other than that it was really bad. Incidents have been missed, and it seemed as if the director always cut away from the action. Hopefully this was just a one off...

Sky did an ok job. Picture quality during practice/qualifying is still awful, but it's pretty good in the race actually. Keke Rosberg is finally gone and replaced by Mark Surer who does an excellent job as Expert and co commentator. Supports were good covered this weekend, especially the GP2 race on Saturday. Also, they finally join the worldfeed 5 minutes before the start. Improvements everywhere, slow, but steady...

5 overall then

6/10

The start was brilliant and the last section of the race was great. Everything in between was not good.
