Commentators at french TV TF1 say Vergne got his rear slip out of him under braking.

You goddamned dipshits, he's french but he did change his line for no reason, don't defend him at all costs.

Because the Lotus is probably faster in race conditions and only that 20 second gap was keeping Vettel safe.
