Wow, spectacular.

I had missed your point about ear sensors, I didnt know about that feature but it would be a very good idea indeed.

Don't they already use those? Or at least at Indycar they do. If the ear plug sensor goes over some limit, it alerts the race control and medical team about it. I think the limit was 25 or 30 G.

He's won the first race of a series' season in 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012. But Bahrain isn't the first round. Run ended.

What race in 2012? He did Formula 2.0 but didn't win the first race. Some boy called Kvyat did.

Surely there has to be a monetary reason as to why Celis is in the Force India

According to wiki he did two different FRenault championships in 2011 and 2012.

Yes. The reason is that Force India do not have enough of it.

So Mercedes just go out for a few laps at the start of the session and are 1.8 seconds faster, then come out later and are 2 seconds faster.

So this tear off ban has to be the FIA taking the piss right? The drivers will need to be keep them in the cockpit, which has zero space for any form of compartment, the drivers will then have to fumble around trying to get them into it at racing speed (when their hand movements are very limited in the confined space), and just hope like hell that they don't stuff up or one comes loose and gets stuck under the pedals....yay for safety!

So what's next they will ban spectators from bringing any and all forms of plastic or paper bags to the track? For a stray one might get onto the track? Stray bags are more of an issue than the tear offs.

@JJ Well FOM have fucked up everything else

Looking at the scoring table, did Mercedes use Supersofts or something? If not, then please take your children off the TV, this is an uncensored rape scene in plain daylight.

: Tear offs should be fed into the car air intakes. Therefore, you'll have to either drive blind for longer or risk clogging your cooling system. Tough choice.

^^ on the very brief 10 second highlight thing I just saw it was a yellow s symbol next to the time, presumably that means softs only, pink is super soft isn't it? You can see I'm not interested in this ATM lol.

Supersofts are red and yes I believe their lap was on softs.

This is FP1 though, conditions are completely different in Qlf and the race.

Nevertheless, I expect Mercedes rape. That Rosberg lap out of the box was already 2 tenths quicker than last year's pole.

Senna once clogged the air intakes on purpose in his F-Ford days so the car could warm faster, but then had to remove and unbuckled in the middle of the straight to remove the tape from the radiator

Wow this is crazy. There's no way you can buckle again in a single-seater, is there? Is it presumptuous to imagine that this has ended in disqualification and drama?
