Unlike most people, I'm not a big fan of our national anthem. I'd rather prefer another version, the anthem that honors Republic Proclamation in November 1889. The lyrics is more realistic and beautiful.

It's one beautiful song written by Medeiros Albuquerque (1867-1934).

ITT we discuss politics and anthem quality. Let's hope the racing lives up to the enthralling conversation this thread already contains. I don't think I can contain myself.

Maybe some advertising will fall on the circuit again.

Is the outside of T1 completely asphalt or is it partially astroturf? Can't remember.

Let's hooe Rosberg wins this one and the last one, perfect setup for next year.

To which Montoya holds the unenviable record of being the first driver in F1 history to receive and take a drive-through penalty.

in 1993 Senna also took a penalty and used rain and luck to win one of his finest races

Indeed. He was given a 10 second stop and go penalty (can't remember why) and he took the penalty at the same time as changing tyres. It was shortly after this that the FIA changed the rules so that you had to serve the penalty separately to a pit stop.

We've been having cloudy days with light rain during the night for the past 15 days in a row. It's been pretty humid lately, this may be good news for a rainy F1 race but we don't know how many days this will last.

Weather forecast for next Sunday is: rainy day, 22ºC (max), 17ºC (min), 78% of humidity and winds 19km/h. Given the level of unreliability lately, the forecast may change dramatically.

22ºC max? Isn't that too low for this season of the year?

I remember Mansell doing the same thing in an Indycar race at Surfers Paradise. It wasn't much of a penalty at all and I think he went on to win.

biggest penalty farce must be Schumacher in Silverstone 98. I still don't understand how the rules were so unclear that he got away with it.
