Wet or dry, I don't care, as long as it's entertaining.

Getting a feeling this is either gonna be a boring race with extremely exciting consequences for the standings in the championship (Vettel wins, Button 2nd, Alonso 3rd, Hamilton outside top 6 and Webbo in P10, somewhere along that line)

OR

this is gonna be a truly epic race with little or no changes in the championship at the end.

F1.com still predicting scattered thunderstorms for all 3 days... Damp and/or green track at the start, could be nice :)

Can the drivers not wear tinted visors to reduce glare from nighttime dampness on the track? It makes sense that a wet race would be difficult under the lights, but you would think F1 had planned appropriately for such a contingency. :?

They have planned appropriately, postpone. There is only so much you can do and there are fewer difficult conditions than rain + lights. It would be highly entertaining though.

Anyway it will be fine for the race, 4-6 like clockwork usually.

I thought the reason why it was a night race was because it doesn't rain in the evenings over there this time of year, just during the day?

Speaking of Live on One, will they really show Suzuka halfway through the Bathurst 1000?

oh... not as bad as i was expecting. It looks not much different to what they had before. I think FP1 and FP2 will be a threat for rain and possibly before SP3.

Interesting tweet....

"The rain stopped hours ago, but the track is still damp - and the pitlane surface very slippery. Now is when the race would be on"

I think this rain thing has been there since they race in Singapore. Kinda like Sepang, it will always rain, but most likely not before the race has ended. And in this case, the rain will be gone during the night. The only thing that might happen is what F1Fan93 said.

Having said this, I'm pretty sure it will be completely the other way around.

The grand prix starts at 5pm our time and usually Bathurst has just finished by then so might all work out neatly.

I swear it started like 1 or 2 hours after bathurst. I'm probably tripping though.

Im only going by formula1.coms time converter. Says 5pm melbourne time, but i dont know if they ve accounted for daylight savings. If anything wouldnt that mean the race would be at 6pm?

Our daylight savings doesn't start 'til the end of October, so yes, it's 5pm, however, Bathurst usually finishes about 5:30pm. There is an overlap. Unless the 1000 goes almost Safety Car free there will most certainly be a clash.

Dude daylight savings is 1st weekend of october. :p
