Interesting race coming up, Kimi showed that he is back, but those 2 last laps were... yeah... Maybe it is another scrap between Kimi and Lewis.

Face it, Kimi's been all the same. The same long-distance master. Remember, his Q was even more awful than the previous ones this season all together. Spa itself helped him to cover from his deep problems (longer and overtakable racetrack).

I would expect Kimi to play his role now, Massa ain't that much of a embarrassement at all.

Circuit the same as last year??

Very difficult circuit to pass on. Don't believe me?? The Hamilton pass last year is the only pass I've seen at Monza that's actually good since Mansell passing Senna in 1991.

Raikkonen will tell you how hard it is to pass.

Are you serious? There's been alot of overtaking at Monza on the latest version of the track. Especially in the first two chicanes. Last few years have been bad because of TC and braking assistant. These two systems helped the drivers to do pretty much optimum brakings and therefore outbraking another was rarely seen. This year it should be better as it has been proved in few other races already. I'm sure that this is going to be a legendary race. I hope that Ferrari takes 1-2 at their home event. :flag:

I'm not saying its impossible, but not easy either. The behaviour of the cars under brakes and ther is never a large performace difference in braking performance.

This year with no TC, there will be no help from the electronics if a driver hits the kerbs, so we may see some passing.

no engine brake mapping (is that the correct term?) will see them absolutely slowing down the car with quite some hard work going on in the cockpit.
Might be fun to watch, especially going down in T1.

Also, this should theoretically produce the best race of 2008 because the aero devices have been limited to the only necessary crap.

So let's hope

It isn't the correct term, but given the F1 media outlets have been using this term you can't be blamed for not using the correct term.

F1 is not removing engine braking. You cannot remove engine braking. It is impossible. That would defy the laws of physics. Engine braking is the resistance of the parts in the engine working against the power that the engine is producing. If the engine had no braking, then when you lifted off the throttle it wouldn't lose revs.

F1 is removing the throttle-blip feature from the engine software. Currently the engine automaticly levels the throttle on down changes, making down changing much easier and smoother. With it removed, it means the driver has to manually do this, taking more skill and making it easier to make an error. It removes computer control for another part of driving, and gives it back to the driver.

It is actually an important a change as the removal of traction control is.

I don't think F1 cars will go airbourne even if they hit exactly the same bump in exactly the same way, it's a prototype issue, not anything to do with F1.

Like I said "fortunately not likely to happen in F1" ;) Not very likely because of the much smaller bottom surface area. And that Glock's "jump" was just an example (not example of going airborne) that bumps on the runoffs can cause some extra action.

Do you mean automatic throttle blip on downshifts is completely gone? That must be wrong. As far as I have understood previously ECU detected if traction was broken at the rear and then applied blipping to stop the locking. Difference to '07 cars is that drivers need to be a lot more careful when to downshift and little bit homework for engineers to find the right balance, as the first races showed.

Why you said "is removing" and "currently the engine automatically..."? It's already 2008. :o

I expect a close battle between Ferrari and Mclaren, the low twmperatures or even rain means the Maccas will be a bit favourite. If Heikki is in good form it would be nice the see te first Mclaren 1-2 of the season, but its going to be hard, Massa is motivated and will be strong.

If the throttle blip was removed for this year, then just move my post back a year. :p I'm not big on F1 technical regs and wasn't aware it was already removed.

But my point is that you cannot remove "engine braking". It is impossible.

What do i have to face? Kimi said that his car was much more better than in recent qualifyings, he just made a big mistake there and admitted that.
