Dam i thought it was in HD :? I have a 42"720p HDTV with an HD box and F1 was on the HD channels of TSN(ITV) and Speed ch. and the video quallity looks like HD..the Onboard shots look rubbish but the viewing ontrack looks just as good as Nascar.

That's probably an issue for Stefmeister, but there is no F1 broadcast in HD. What SPEED and TSN might be showing is upscaled SD, like the Cinema feed.

I believe some if not most races are filmed in HD, but the FOM production trucks only put out an SD feed.

IF that is upscaled its pretty dam good, F1 is supposed to be the pinnacal so they should lead in all aspects of their product. maybe if i had a 1080p Tv i would be able to see a big difference.

Bernie has been extremely reluctant to put forward his own money towards any improvement of the coverage since Bernievision failed. If F1 is to go HD, then it will either need to be paid for by the TV companies or they will have make it so that a significant majority of their watchers have HD capability.

F1 is not helped by the fact that the majority of the viewers are European, and Europe has been very slow to adapt to HD compared to America.

My Premiere subscription expires in August, and reading that BBC also (might) have the GP2 rights...I guess it really is time to say bye bye Premiere then dincer their current motorsport programme is pretty awful.

F1 coverage - reduced
NASCAR - gone
A1GP - gone
F3 - possibly gone (not mentioned in preview)
Formula BMW - possibly gone (not mentioned in preview)
Porsche Carrera Cup - possibly gone (not mentioned in preview)
Seat Leon Supercopa - possibly gone (not mentioned in preview)
VW Polo Cup - possibly gone (not mentioned in preview)

F1 reduced? how? No more free practice or something like that? Since they got german football back they have been reducing their racing coverage it seems

Sounds like Setanta, used motorsport to make money then used the money to get football at the expense of motorsports.

For pepole who talks in french the coverage of Formula one will be better,in France TF1/ESF stays with the same coverage but radio network coverage will be awsome RMC will cover 6h30 of F1 per Week-end and Europe 1 will have to be competitive as RMC.

Setanta are still bothering me after I cancelled in early 2008 as they dropped BTCC. The extremely pushy sales guy who phoned me up then lied that they'd definitely have BTCC too. Bunch of losers.

everything is still going to be live, but it looks as though the pre- and püost race/session stuff is going to be reduced aswell. And I'm not even going to mention the picture quality which got worse and worse in previous years (on Premiere's end)

Gonna be a tough 2009 for Premiere...well..until autumn atleast, my bets are on a relaunch and a new name (Sky Deutschland), but I also might be wrong, but that doesn't belong here.

Or Abmoteurs. :( It used to be a great Motorsport channel in the early 2000's.

They showed:
- F3 Euro Series Live
- Indycar Live
- Champcar Live
- Nascar Nextel Live
- World Series by Renault Live
- Nascar Truck Highlights
- Grand-Am Highlights
- Super Serie FFSA Highlights

Now we only have:
- A1GP Live
- Nascar Sprint Cup Live

No Schumi --> Less money --> Less motorsport coverage. I'm afraid of what will happen with F1 coverage in Spain when Alonso retires.
