'Valtteri is faster than you'? Fucking prove it by passing him, then.

Good on Felipe.

This wouldn't have had any effect on the drivers championship outcome but if bottas did catch button it could have affected the final ranking of Williams and thus generating more income for 2015.
Massa was being selfish here.

He wouldn't have passed Button, his car wasn't fast enough. The only reason he was catching Felipe in the final stint was because Felipe was stuck. Identical engines with identical acceleration patterns.

For the record, Williams were also wrong to use team orders earlier in the race to protect Felipe.

We'll never know because of ignored team orders. Massa acted like a spoiled brat today and it will hurt him in the future IMO.

Too late for the excuses, sir.

It probably will hurt him.

But if that's the way Williams want to play it, that's their choice. They can stick Mrs. Wolff in the car if they want a subservient number two.

What excuses? I don't like team orders and I especially don't like them being used in the second race of the season.

He'd have probably had to rely on a mistake to get past but that just wasn't going to happen with Button. Knew just where to position his car against Massa and would have done the same with Bottas.

Only because she'll never be anywhere near Bottas.

Excuses to make Massa look OK in this. Nobody likes TO but that's irrelevant. You don't ignore team orders no matter what. Massa is not Williams' silver-spooned kid like Vettel at RBR. He won't get away with it. He ought to know better.

Felipe costs them the chance at 4 more points in the constructors.

Roll to November. Williams are beaten by, lets say McLaren, to 4th in the constructors championship by 3 points.

Felipe Massa has just cost the team $20 million dollars.

Yeah fuck him for being a narrow minded moron and putting his own ego in front of a 300 person team.

No-one was passing anyone unless they either had a massive inherent speed advantage or were on brand-new tyres vs. someone who was at the end of their old ones.

Neither of which applied to Valtteri vs. Button.

He doesn't look OK. He's a massive hypocrite. Aside from that, I support him for ignoring the order and I wish Valtteri had done the same earlier on.

Felipe's hypocrisy doesn't change my opinion on team orders.

Meh, Massa's engineer's choice of words was hilariously bad and it shouldn't have surprised anyone that his reaction wasn't positive. In Massa's position, with his particular career, he had to hold his ground and I doubt he'll ever regret it no matter what the consequences.

I do wonder if Felipe's engineer chose the words he did because he knew what Felipe's response would be.

Any which way, Massa sell the team short and it's gonna be fun watching his season go downhill from now on.

Does anyone else think that they should move one of the DRS zones to the exit of turn 2 running through to turn 4?

Seemed that drivers were reluctant to make a pass on the back straight because they knew the favour would be returned once they got around the final corner.

Post subject:  Re: 2014 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix, March 28-30

They should just drop the 2nd zone, Having 1 zone is good enough & I think it should be on the final straght rather than the start/finish straght.

Reason I say that is because I don't like how having the DRS zone on start/finish just see's drivers not wanting to pass into the final corner to ensure they don't get Re-passed with DRS on the start/finish straght.

We often see good racing from turn 1-4 without DRS so no need to add a zone there.

Red Bull are in trouble, apparently a mechanic didn't have a helmet during one of their stops.
