each day looks like Liberty is trying to find ways to bash the classic european tracks

one day is because they're "soft spot for protest". Perhaps is because they're held in democracies

now they're putting the blame on legacy tracks on the botched calendar

I must say if they started taking away the classic tracks race attendance will dwindle even more and they'll have to resort to "paid guests" to pretend they're rooting for the drivers

Can't believe what I'm reading:
https://www.racefans.net/2023/04/21/aus ... few-years/

Learned what? Last race was the biggest fiasco in Formula 1 since Indy 2005. I hope we will never have a repeat of it.

I guess what they've learnt is if Abu Dhabi 2021 happened again, they'd red flag it

What was ridiculous about Australia was the minor reasons for the red flags in the first place, when the first one was a VSC and the second one a SC at best.

I'd say classic tracks will feature more of that and then FIA will hear Liberty and say that the problem was with the venues

Just realised it was the 20 year anniversary of me starting to watch F1 the other day! Imola 2003 :flag:

Here's an Illustration I actually drew about a decade ago but only got around to finishing it recently that marks that race :flag: :flag:

Nice one. If I start something and it isn't done within the week, it never gets finished. So kudos to you for completing it a decade later!

I had the car basically done, it was just choosing a background that took the longest lol. And after getting back into Illustrations during lockdown I eventually picked this one back up!

Here's some finished/work in progress ones that I've done over the past few years

That split livery CSL is a good idea. Really creative stuff overall.

Brad Pitt will be allowed to "race" a lap in his own racecar along with the actual cars during the warm-up lap of the British GP.

Seems like a risk and lots of planning, I would think it would be less of a situation to just ask all drivers to do a 5min race simulation at low speed at the end of FP2.

will be on that lap that oil lunatics will seat in the middle of the track?

Thank you! My goal is to create quite colourful/funky designs, so I oddly enough find doing the backgrounds some of the hardest parts. Eventually I would like to sell them as prints etc.

Here's a larger version. (I suppose I should be posting these in the Illustrations thread instead :p )

I guess it depends if it's a bit like what they do in Indycar with Mario and the 2 seater, like he goes off before the pack. Or are they wanting footage for the movie and want Brad in amongst the cars? :?

That sounds like a recipe for disaster. Are the drivers going to be getting instructions from Liberty whilst doing their warm up laps? "Ok slow down please, Brad wants this particular shot going through Copse.. Can you two please get side by side for this shot going down Hanger Straight"?

I can't see the drivers and teams being too happy about that when it will be during actual race prep. If it was like Omega said, pre arranged after FP2 (two laps maybe) where drivers could be given instruction, then yeah. But during the warm up laps?

What I understood is that it will be during the sighting laps on the way to the grid, the warm up lap doesn't make sense as all cars are weaving to get heat in the tires. Would look silly in a movie if that's the way they race, driven part 2 it is then

Wonder what they'll do if it's going to be wet weekend at Silverstone.

I don't think Massa will make himself very popular with this. Amongst all F1 fans, not only with fans and haters of the parties involved.

The source that I read (which I won't post because it's in Dutch and most of you can't read it anyway) specifically mentions the warm up lap before the start.

The article also mentions that Hamilton is involved in writing the script, so expect the hero to be British and the villain the evil Dutch racer Axe Von Trappen.
