Reckon they'll survive into 2011?

To quote Stephen Fry;

'Short answer, no. Long answer; fuck, no.'

Unless Willis has been working his bollocks off for the last 5 months they have nothing aside from a contract with Williams. No car, no money, no drivers. Carabante is a fraud and Kolles isn't a miracle worker. If they do drag something legal to Bahrain it will be a Lola-sized fuckup.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

That's a shame. Are they still going ahead with their own car as they have broken off links with Dallara or they got no car at all?

I don't believe they have the facilities to even start producing there own car. Now Toyota and Dallara won't work them.

Well the way they could do it, which is what Saward suggested, is that they could piece it together - Willis and co design a car, get various independent firms to build it and loan Williams' windtunnel

However, it would almost certainly be Super Aguri 2006 bad, if not worse

Well they should come up with something fast. Because the 107% rule next year isn't going to help them.

Super Aguri is different, they had money from Honda to start with but it wasn't a lot.

Can you imagine a HRT car battling with a McLaren? Not a chance but Sato certainly did that at Montreal.

But that wasn't in 2006. 2006 was when they used the 2002 Arrows and were absolutely miles off the pace

There's still Epsilon Euskadi, they were allegedly building a 2011 car.

Yeah Epsilon got the facilities and people to develop a car. HRT already got the personal with 1 year (and more) experience to keep it operational. Both had people who where willing to back them up financially, and both have Spanish origins so those would be easy to combine. Together that surely would make a reasonable F1 team?

Mentioned elsewhere but Narain's back. Yay?

Any word on HRT sourcing a new car? If they try running last year's they probably wont qualify for a single race.

They will have a new car, apparently based on some Toyota designs.

I thought the Toyota connection was officially ended some time back and they were planning on just using the 2010 Dallara.

Money opens up everything!

Anyway, F1today.nl reports HRT has left the FOTA http://www.f1today.nl/20110109/hrtwoord ... laten.html

Can't help but notice the pattern - seems they got dumped out for not paying the membership fee...

being a member of the fota costs a team € 100.000/year
so it's not surprising they left

Tabatha Valls (Press woman) has joined Virgin from HRT. Not hugely relevant but someone might care.

It couldn't quite work because HRT was initially set up to promote Murcia, and Epsilon's whole point is being a basque team. It's a bit like asking the Scottish national team to join the English national team.

So doing a Alain Prost would be wiser??
being too stubborn and let the company go down instead of saving the jobs of 100+ people.
