What an absolute shit show. It is clear that the people running the thing don't even know what they are doing and anyone that still tries to defend Masi is just blind.

I can't believe that it isn't as simple as as soon as they leave the grid for a formation lap then the race procedure has started. Doesn't mean that the race has started, but the procedure. And they are now saying that the formation lap has eaten into the race distance.........so the race has started, otherwise it would still be the full race distance!!! So how can Perez be allowed to start?

I think the Perez decision was made on the fly because there's no rule or precedent for it. My logic would be that he can start because the race did not officially start, regardless of the procedure.

If 2 laps under sc, does fastest lap still count?

If anything, everybody's happy. Tickets were paid, people are on TV staring at sponsors on pit crew/driver overalls and stationary cars, huge savings on tyres/fuel and engines.

F1, teams and organisers are winning from this. Only spectators on sote and on TV are being the butt of this joke.

Wouldn’t be better to have the cars going around, clearing whatever extra water is on the track?

Like in Fuji?

Last driver will likely get it and being outside the top ten no point gets awarded.

This would be ludicrously dangerous to award, it's just asking for a Mugello, but sillier. I'd watch that though.

Perez would be ready to go. Feel for the RB mechanics if it's all for nought.

If drivers are not allowed to change places during the race (under SC), points would be totally unfair.

The broadcast window rule is ridiculous, TV schedules are pretty much obsolete.

Make the trip part of the race, untimed liaison as in rally events.
