I agree with him....

Just had look at his Twitter account. He's not very reserved individual. For some reason, I find his behavior odd given his profession as a MD.

Grosjean stays.

Good, I think he has a lot more potential than he had shown last year.

He has lots of potential to test the safety measures of F1, more than any other driver in the grid. He's the first driver to be sacked in 2013, replaced by either Kovalainen, Kobayashi or Valsecchi (not in particular order).

Grosjean will mature and be just as fast and anonymous as Rosberg in a few years time.

I think keeping Grosjean was probably the right call, However if he continues to make stupid mistakes when around other cars I would not be surprised to see him replaced.

The worry for me is that he's been driving the same way & Making the same silly errors for as long as i've been watching him race (Since Euro F3 in 2006) & he's shown little sign of changing/improving in that time. He's clearly got a ton of speed but if he can't learn from his mistakes & show improvement then he may not be in F1 for long which given his potential would be a shame.

Kamui gives up on 2013.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/104861

Best case scenario would be for Lotus to take him on as reserve and install him when they get tired of Grosjean hitting things, but I doubt it would happen.

Best scenario would be for Kamui to get a seat in Indycar. The series needs to regain some form of credibility right now and Kamui would be a very popular addition. I'd rather not see Kamui waste away in a reserve seat or a Caterham.

As a fan of his, I wouldn't want Kamui to drown in that cesspit of a series.

Besides, he has no interest in racing outside of F1, so it's not a real concern for me anyway.

Maybe do a year in Formula Nippon + Super GT. Only possibility is Pirelli test driver.

Or maybe a Force India 3th driver with a possibility for next year.

Looking at Force India, They seem to have Sutil, Senna, Alguersuari & Bianchi going after the 2nd seat alongside Di Resta.

Of those 4 if I were team boss I would go for Jaime Alguersuari as I feel he's got a lot more potential than the other 3. I also feel that with the mid-field so close now they need someone who will be able to push them & Di Resta forward & I think Jaime would be able to do that more than the others.

That would leave Caterham, I'd actually like to see that seat go to Senna. Qualifying struggles aside Bruno's a good racer & showed great race pace through 2012 & I really feel he's capable of a lot more than he's shown in F1 thus far.

BTW is Glock secure at Marussia?

Glock has a contract with Marussia through to 2014, I'm not sure if there are team performance clauses (that allows Glock to leave) or what the cost to the team would be to terminate it.

I'm not a fan of Chilton, there are better drivers out there, however if his funding helps John Booth and Co. move ahead of Caterham and challenge the teams ahead then I'm ok with the signing.

If what brazilian media has told is right, Bruno Senna is out of the fight for this seat and Sutil vs Bianchi is the final fight for that.

Grosjean: No specific targets next year

18 December 2012

Romain Grosjean has admitted that he will not be setting any specific targets ahead of his second full season in Formula 1, with the Frenchman vowing to simply do 'the best job' he can in 2013. On Monday afternoon, it was confirmed that the the 2011 GP2 Champion will remain as Kimi Räikkönen's team-mate at Lotus next year.

Grosjean remains at Lotus for a second season

"The objective is to do my best, my best race and the best job for the team - I need to get out of the car and know I did the best I could - and of course scoring points as well," Grosjean told Sky Sports. "But I am not going to put any big objective straightaway - I am just going to do things the best I can."

With a lengthy post-season wait before the deal was officially announced, Grosjean revealed that the final decision was made just before his Race of Champions triumph in Bangkok last weekend.

"It was just before the Race of Champions, so it was good to get there and have a weekend of fun with some good guys and really enjoy it," he added. "I have been waiting on this news for quite a while now and I was really hoping for it.

"When I got it I felt really good, really proud and it is a sign of the confidence the team and the owners have in me. I am really looking forward to starting the 2013 season."

Now there is an unfortunate headline.

Barcelona has moved to secure its annual spot on the formula one calendar.

With European grand prix host Valencia dropped from the 2013 schedule, it was expected that both of Spain's F1 hosts would now move to annually alternate a single race per year.

But El Mundo Deportivo newspaper reports that the Circuit de Catalunya has inked an agreement with the public institution Diputacion Provincial de Barcelona, providing new funding to the track.

"We have a contract to host the GP de Espana until 2016," said Circuit de Catalunya chief Vincente Aguilera, "and we want to keep it.

"Indeed, we are open to negotiating an extension until 2020 with the same conditions," he added.

Aguilera told AS newspaper: "We have no desire to alternate. We cannot speak for Valencia, who have agreements with (Bernie) Ecclestone about which we have nothing to say."

Very true, I thought the same. But then I remembered he was the same in 2012, tending to hit anything that moved. Maybe he got inspiration from Maldonado.

Grosjean doesn't have any specific targets but if he had, he would hit them spot on for sure!

If Grosjean would be a band, he would be AC/DC - good, but not too special and has dozens of famous hits.
