Surprised nobody but Scotty has said it. Why was Alonso allowed to keep the position ahead of Ric? He passed both Red Bulls at once, illegally. |

I guess it was because he was in front of Ricciardo but behind Vettel when he overshot the corner. Complete crap if this is why by the way. |

There was a pit radio transmission as well as a two slowmos on tv about that. The stop itself was done quickly, but the two dedicated guys were still cleaning out tyre marbles. |

Allowing lapped cars to overtake is just pointless and so time consuming. Either leave everyone in position and if a lapped car is between yourself and the next car ahead, deal with it. Had the race not gone to a Safety Car, you'd have to pass the lapped cars on circuit at some point, so why does it matter? Or drop the lapped cars straight to the back. Don't give them a lap back; just allow all lead lap cars ahead of them. It would take half the amount of time. Why do the lapped cars need to be let past? They're a lap down for a reason. Tough luck. Even NASCAR can get this sorted at every restart fairly easily. And yeah, I also thought Alonso gained on both Red Bulls by missing the corner. Good old Tarmac run off. It's a shame they can't make every chicane run off like the ones at Monza, where you have to weave between cones and you simply cannot make an advantage. |

Speaking of pitstop drama, what exactly did Pastor do in his? I had to use the toilet at that point but as I was coming back out I heard everyone in the pub wincing and laughing at him ,as usual. On the SC thing, it's an odd precedent they set when a whole car spun around a blind corner is left for the marshals to sort out under yellow but some front wing debris off line requires the safety car. Maybe Charlie was just bored. On the backmarker thing, it'd be easy to just run them through the pitlane and hold them until the pack passes by them. If you still insist on giving them a lap back I'm sure that can be done on the timing system. If I can do it when karts break down at my local kart track then I'm sure the world's leading motorsport series can manage it.

Was only shown once so don't know if it was Pastor or the team's fault. Was one of his better races, not far off getting points. |

In my opinion it is not. and yes I support lewis, but I also don't want the german to be champion, I prefer Ricciardo in that case |

The only similarity is that the marshalls needed to be on the track. I still believe Hockenheim should have been a safety car because it looked very risky when the marshalls ran across the track (one of them stopped on the outside of the corner because he didn't feel he had enough time to cross). I agree they're not comparable, but I still think both should have been a safety car. |
