I think that is highly likely.

Two Italian broadsheets are claiming that Alonso and Ferrari went at it after qualifying at India.

I can fully imagine Fernando kicking and screaming, but it's another thing to know what he was about to Tweet. I find that part dubious.

Yeah that's not how it works. The British GP gets no government funding and Bernie doesn't pay for it.

I have always thought that Bernie runs FOM as a Mafia organisation. Think about it. They play interested parties off one another, have them spend a huge amount of money on a track dictated what most specifications are by the FIA (they can't just build any old thing), and if that is not good enough and the FIA demand changes, this is at the expense of the circuit. Then after building the track, they then have to pay for the privilege of holding the race. Then after spending all that money they get threatened with race fee increases. They then have to pay for their promotion around the track. Then depending on how much you have spent, the populace might react negatively against your...investment? They only get 4-5 year contracts and can get dumped after that. I may have the finer details wrong but this is essentially it.

As long as I can remember 20 years of following F1, Bernie has stated that he wanted a GP in New York. Now he had the opportunity he hasn't done shit, sticking to his normal line. If he really wanted it, he would have had it paid for instead of saying they ran out of time for their contracts. He knows what a one way bet building a track is and doesn't want to be holding the bag at the end of the day.

If this falls through I don't think a New York GP won't be on the cards for a very very long time if ever.

Goodbye Kamui then.

I believe it's going to be Alguersuari in the other Force India seat.

Hope Kamui's podium in Japan has awaken the Japanese sponsors... Would be fucked up to see him leave.

Don't want to see him in endurance racing yet (as I assume he will join Toyota in WEC if he doesn't get a seat).

I think he'll probably go to the Indycar series when he is out of F1

Kamui's problem is that he didn't race in Japan growing up, he even karted in Europe; the 2010 race at Suzuka was his first ever at the track, for example. So there were no Japanese sponsors who got behind him then, and the one backer he did have cut ties when they left F1.

Which is why I don't think it's assured that he would go back to Toyota if he couldn't find anything in F1.

But he got a huge popularity looking at all the chanting at Suzuka. And Toyota was pretty supportive throughout his career don't know how those ties are at the moment (I know he and Nakajima aren't the greatest of friends though).

Doubt he will go to Indycar. He was aligned with Toyota don't know how sensitive a move to Honda will be (although someone could actually select him on talent, hopefully).

During the Indian GP broadcast Popov said that the time when money are more important than the talent had come in Koba situation.

That's why I said I actually hope someone would just pick him on base of his talent ;) , not politics of sponsorship.

Unfortunately, drivers don't get sponsored on the basis of how popular they are at a race, especially their home race.

Again, I don't think there's any relationship between Kamui and Toyota. They dumped him when they withdrew from F1. He might go and race their sportscars but I don't think it would be his first choice if there is nothing in F1.
