It seems silly season has finally arrived, only a bit later than usual this year....

M. Schumacher was the one that brought titles for Ferrari by taking Benetton staff with him and not the other way round

maybe he was the first driver to dispute Enzo Ferrari affirmative that "Ferraris wins races and driver loses it"

Michael never attempted to publically humiliate the team in the press over a long period of time. Alonso's handling of the past 18 months (ignoring that he did similar with both Renault and McLaren) has been nothing short of pathetic.

If I ever did to my employer what Alonso has done to his over this past 18 months, let alone try to criticize them similar to the way he did on Saturday, I would be fired on the spot. Just saying.

There is a time and a place for discussing team tactics, poor performance and overall unhappiness. And that is never in full view of the public eye nor over a radio system which Alonso knows full well is open to a huge global audience.

Agree with you here. I'd rather see drivers be less robotic.

It's apparently a fake actually, thought it was odd a driver would be the one to announce it on facebook

It's a fan page but it isn't run by fans. You can look through the messages and see which ones were posted by Fernando.

He signs it Fernando. Common for sports figured to share a Facebook and twitter account with their PR people and sign it as who posted.

The owner of the url (http://www.alonsofanpage.com) seems to be working for McDonalds and Standard Developments Ltd, so I highly doubt it's Alonso's PR team, let alone Alonso posting on there.

Two quick questions, does anyone know if the infield past the first chicane at Monza is owned by the track and if it is clear of the banking?

Yeah, Hamilton is a better driver than Button, but that wasn't the original statement you questioned. The question I'm trying to settle is whether Button was closer to his team mate than Webber was during the period 2010-2012.

Another way to put it - Webber almost won the title in 2010. Button never got close at McLaren.

That seems like a completely unrelated way to put it seeing as Hamilton never really got much nearer the title in the 3 years either.

Except that Lewis took the 2010 title fight down to the last round. He also fought all way through 2013 but lost out thanks to a combination of poor reliability and pit idiocy from the team.

IIRC of 2000, wasn't Button pretty much neck in neck in terms of results, right up until about Brazil, where Hamilton moved ahead?

Much earlier in the season than Brazil. Button was eliminated from the title race after being removed from Spa by Vettel. But he wasn't neck and neck either at that time.
