Instead of the 2014 thread I'll post this here...

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/formula1/29067962

Basically Toto Wolff stating that he may consider an alternative driver line-up if the drivers cannot race cleanly. What it doesn't say is whether that would be for spot races in 2014 or means Lewis will head back to McLaren for 2015...

If i were McLaren, id be after Kvyatt (but he is probably under contract)

Vandoorne would get a drive at McLaren before Kvyat.

The latest rumour with legs is Alonso to Mercedes, presumably replacing Hamilton.

It's the number 2 story in the paddock behind Montezemelo's imminent departure.

Why would you want to get rid of Button?

Neither Hamilton nor Rosberg will leave Merc, Alonso will stay at Ferrari and Vettel will stay at RB.

The top teams are all going to be the same.

I assume all those drivers want to wait and see what Honda is capable off, so I think the same line-up seems most likely.

Will today change Alonso's and possibly vettel's mind?

there's some supposed clauses in Alonso's contract that release him if he stays 25 points behind the leader or if Ferrari couldn't get to top 3

I'm of the same opinion. With Honda returning to Mclaren next year, you'd have to assume some of the staff involved in their last F1 venture would still be around & would be sent to Mclaren to consult with them, so having Button around would be of great benefit as he would've built up those working relationships prior. Additionally, he's done a respectable job this year with the car he has, & says he's still motivated.

On Magnussen, hes getting some praise from Ron Dennis, & I think another year is deserved to see how he develops out.

Is there any news about whether the Honda engine will actually be ready for the post season test in Abu Dhabi? There was something briefly mentioned in a practice session at Spa I think and they said it wasn't.

Boullier said it is a possibility: http://www.crash.net/f1/news/204297/1/mclaren-could-test-honda-engine-this-year.html

apparently Telmex (or whatever that sponsor is called) is pushing for Guittierez and Perez at Force India next year, an all-Mexican line-up.

Hulkenberg may have to be reserve driver in this case, sometimes doing some Friday practice sessions.

Money is always an issue but I don't think Mallya is that stupid.

Yeaa, it'd only happen if FI really needed the money.

Isn't Mallya's airline pretty much bust now?

Wouldn't his choice be influenced by where ForceIndia finish this year in the Constructors championship? If they get 5th, then they stay with the current lineup, where as 6th would mean Taco's all round?
