Closing streets of a city home to 9 million people is logistically challenging in itself but postponing the race to Monday due to rain would cause total chaos

I look forward to seeing these "brightly coloured" walls they've put in this year :) :)

Last year's race wasn't that exciting, compared to the inaugural race the year before (with the street circuit layout, of course).

Damnit why do they have to change good tracks all the time! The bumps were cool and turn 10 had nothing wrong with it!

yes the drivers are paid very high - and they already arguing about some bumps, its part of the motorsport or every track

Can't wait for this one, D'Ambrosio in practice, first Belgian since Bas Leinders, I don't expect much from the Virgin car but always good to see the Belgian flag on a Formula 1 event.

Also looking for Heidfeld with Sauber, I always tough this driver was under-evaluated, hope Kamui and him can manage some good points by the end of the seasons.

By the way, South-east Asia is in the middle of the rain season, here in South Viet Nam we have T-storm everyday and mostly in the evening, around 6:00 pm.

I put my money on Webber for this one, unlucky previous years but won the Monaco Grand Prix this season.

The population of Singapore is 5 million.

and the race is in a small part of town. And the main roads run over the circuit without the need of closing them.

You are also improving the roads for the people in the entire city at the same time and whilst they may not be as noticable in a bus or Honda Accord as in a Red Bull, I'd still welcome a comfier ride as I drove through.

The drivers have a right to complain about the bumps because it's their arses that are bouncing off the floor, even if less bumps does make the tracks easier to drive and the races less spectacular to watch

I'm sure the drivers are willing to take some bumps. But given that they've been complaining since the beginning about them at Singapore, I should imagine they must be quite bad. I'm sure they appreciate that all the tracks being billiard table smooth is boring. All of them have driven at Monaco, most at Macau or Pau

According formula1.com (okay, it's still tuesday) there will be a lot of rain during this weekend.

Can they race when it's raining? Remember the Moto GP in Qatar (in the dark) was cancelled, because drivers couldn't see anything with a wet track and the lights on the circuit.

I'm looking at the BBC website and it says clear sky for Saturday and Sunday nights.

If there's going to be any rain, it'll be before 8pm local time, as it almost always is in that part of the world.

Also

Quote:
Light rain and the occasional rumble of thunder is likely during the mornings and early afternoons, but dry conditions should prevail for the important bits, with a maximum temperature in the daytime of 32 degrees Celsius, dropping to around 29 degrees towards the end of each evening.

As the circuit lies just 400 km south-east of Kuala Lumpur and the Sepang International Circuit, high humidity is to be expected at between 65 and 80 per cent most of the time.

We will continue to monitor the data over the coming days, with a scheduled update on Thursday afternoon. This, of course, will be superseded by further updates if a big storm occurs in the meantime.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

And it's usually pretty hot so the track will no doubt dry reasonably quickly. It'll be a green track which will make things interesting at the start, though

I'm looking forward to this race if anything but for the sight alone. Not sure how the action will be though :p
