Hope we do get a nice race in Monza last year was not bad so hopefully better than that :)
Kimi needs to make a point at monza or he really is out of it, be surprised Massa was faster than him at monza. Just depends who is inbetween them as to weather he continues in the hunt or not.
What are the weather reports saying for this weekend? Wet qually would be coool.

Weather.com is predicting 60% chance of rain for all 3 days.

Can you give those weather forecast like you did at the last race please? :)

not likely :p
I did those weather forecasts for Belgium because I live in it. So I used our belgian institute, which is more likely to be accurate and specific instead of weather.com.
I suggest that an italian member perhaps could do the same.

I remember first time I went to Monza. Friday free practice during 1998 season, and the second session was wet. After that maybe only 2004 race, well the beginning

Interesting race coming up, Kimi showed that he is back, but those 2 last laps were... yeah... Maybe it is another scrap between Kimi and Lewis.

You must be kidding :whistling: This track sucks :yuk: No challenging corner, race ends in about 1 hour and very few possibilities for overtaking.

Very difficult circuit to pass on. Don't believe me?? The Hamilton pass last year is the only pass I've seen at Monza that's actually good since Mansell passing Senna in 1991.

Raikkonen will tell you how hard it is to pass.

Are you serious? There's been alot of overtaking at Monza on the latest version of the track. Especially in the first two chicanes. Last few years have been bad because of TC and braking assistant. These two systems helped the drivers to do pretty much optimum brakings and therefore outbraking another was rarely seen. This year it should be better as it has been proved in few other races already. I'm sure that this is going to be a legendary race. I hope that Ferrari takes 1-2 at their home event. :flag:

I can only remember Schumacher overtaking Hakkinen.

BMW should do well here. I seem to remember them being very strong last year.

Heidfeld was the fastest in last Monza's test, but I doubt they will challenge Ferraris and Mclarens.

The problem is not the track itself for the lenght of the race, and if you think Parabolica, Variante Ascari and Lesmos aren't challenging, you must don't know anything

Races must have about 300km distance, Monza has too long straights, so the space is faster covered.
And by your thinking, I do not know anything, cause these certainly aren't challenging corners imo.

They get even more challenging because of the low downforce setting. Ascari is really a bitch to get right

And the race will be even shorter soon if some of the team bosses get their way if that article is to be believed.

F1-Live.com wrote:
The new alliance of F1's ten teams, FOTA, is set to meet on Thursday in the Monza paddock, Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Among the initial ideas to be discussed, the sports newspaper said, is the possible shortening of Grand Prix from their current 300kms.

"An hour and a half for a race is too long," said Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali. "We must aim to reduce the time, because often in the second half nothing happens.
"

Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo is to chair the Monza meeting, with Honda team boss Ross Brawn in charge of technical matters.

Also on the agenda is the inauguration of the Formula One Teams Association constitution, with all F1 chiefs due to sign up.

You see, is not only Bernie who wants to screw F1. :(

I meant the bumps on the grass, not on the track.

Remember Glock's "jump" in Australia? I bet that bump has been wiped out.

I did not think back then it needs improvement (except maybe flattening the grass area, not a big job anyway), but often someone presses the panic button and does something extreme precautionary changes like paving the whole area around the chicane (following current track design trend) and that would suck.

It's probably a matter of time when for example Curva Grande run-off gets paved á la Pouhon :yuk:

I don't think F1 cars will go airbourne even if they hit exactly the same bump in exactly the same way, it's a prototype issue, not anything to do with F1.
I remember...2004 (?) A Jordan lost it on entry to the chicane in almost the same manner and survived on the ground to be able to collide with a Minardi!
Also if F1 cars had a similar defect that Force India would've gone flying after getting a tiny bit of air at Silverstone! ;)
