di Grassi won't win the title this year; Hulk is too quick. I don't know if he'll even beat Petrov

  He better keep dreaming. ART Team + German Driver [Teh Hulk] are doing it again just like 2005.

I think this track has potential. People who are complaining about surrounding must realise its a work in progress, there is a huge regeneration effort going on around the track similar to in London and the Olympics area.

The cars are the biggest problem. We saw hardly any overtaking at the likes of Bahrain and Istanbul or Silverstone which saw a decent amount of overtaking in the lower classes like GP2 and F BMW. The drivers simply wait for the pitstops or their teams tell them not to overtake and consolidate in the final stint especially at the front of the field.

yeh, it seems like the front runners do less overtaking

Fisichella and Sutil do some good overtaking, Fisichella did some amasing maneuvers in the last couple of races, they aren't expected to score points so they don't have to take it too easy, and look at the result

Oh yeah, totally agree. I should have put  after my sentance. I don't think anyone will beat Hulkenberg now, but then again I thought the same about Grosjean after the first couple of rounds.

have they not altered part of the track for this year?

not one bit as far as I know

Changes has been reported for this years Singapore GP. Afaik, the first three corners will be altered.

Actually looking forward to this race after the summerbreak. Maybe I'm way to optimistic, but I expect to see a lot more action compared to last years race. We'll see, coud very well result in a very boring weekend.

Ah well, Spa is coming up, so I'm not complaining.

The lack of crashes in Valencia was quite surprising last year although many critical points have run-offs. Turns 2, 3 and 5 are probably most likely ones where crashes happen if they happen.

Grosjean in Valencia is official.

stupid, in GP2 he was less consistent than Piquet in F1

considering piquet jr routinely battled with and beat the likes of hamilton, glock, carroll, viso, premat, bruni, and pantano while grosjean has struggles with javier villa and vitaly petrov, i cant see how renault could expect him to be any better than piquet was. the '06 grid was much deeper with talent than the '09 grid.

Wasn't there a big crash there in one of the support races last year?

The only big crashes I can remember were in FBMW- one car got split in half at the first chicane, and IIRC another was sent up quite far on two wheels.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Wasn't a big crash, those Fbmw cars seem to break very easy. There was a collision I thought between Senna and someone else.

The walls are set too far back from the white lines and there are kerbs before the walls so it is pretty hard to hit them unless something goes wrong. If they wan't the crashes, they should move the walls right up to the edge of the track so the drivers are getting as close as they can like at Monaco.

You can't hardly call it a "street circuit" when no-one hits the walls hard because I don't think an F1 car found the walls at all last year.

Half the GP2 field ran out of fuel, but I don't remember any big crashes.

Your definition of a street circuit is for the walls to be as close to the cars as possible. Good to know. :flag:

Rosberg lost it in practice but avoided the wall...I thought there was a GP2 crash there but maybe not, all I remember about that race was the fuel failing

So on those grounds, Long Beach was not a street circuit because I haven't seen anyone crash into the barriers in the IndyCar race (and that derp moment under caution doesn't count).

Oh wait, I did recall a car or two crash into the tire barriers on a couple occasions. And street circuits, by their very definition, are courses that uses the normal streets that you and I would use to go on their way closed down for a week or two for racing purposes only.

Dumbass.
