The new track isn't that bad, but the old one was just unique. The long straights through the forrest combined with the stadium section, that was great.

Luckily we still have Monza

Just wait till Tielke get's his fingers on it...

Tilke would turn Parabolica into a tight hairpin...with a chicane before it in the middle of that straight.

I loved that, it was a shame they changed it.

Go Webber ;)

He cant, tree huggers dont allow any major changes to the track, because its on a park.

Weather forecast is changing rapidly. The heavy rain predicted for Friday will now arrive on Thursday, so Friday should be dry with the odd shower. But now heavy showers are expected on Saturday afternoon...

I'm probably one of a few but I think the new track is great. Mosts years it's delivered some great scraps and battles or a decent race.

2002: Montoya vs. Kimi
2003: So many overtakes into the hairpin. Ferrari sucking. Startline craziness.
2004: Button vs. Nando and plenty of other scraps.
2006: Renault were shit.
2008: Mclaren not pitting Lewis, him having to fight through the field, and making some drivers look like schoolboys the way he left them. Piquet Jnr's only F1 podium.

It's a v.good circuit imo.

LMFAO !! RENAULT WERE SHIT LOL

? They were in 2006. Alonso made a few mistakes and flew off into the gravel at one point. Was lucky that Fisi behind him slowed down so Nando stayed 5th.

But it isn't every day you get a race intersliced with people running across the track and rain near the end. A good race yes but not a normal one.

I think he was laughing at the fact that Renault being shit was a reason for a race being a good one.

Which is a bit weird from Magnifico, I thought he was an Alonso fan.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

2000 was good even before the man on the track or the weather. In fact I can think of plenty of good races on the old circuit and the track itself was just brilliant. If only it could have been kept for other series... :(

I can also think of plenty of good racing from the old circuit. I watched the 1993 race last week & there was a ton of great racing going on with a lot of passing.

I like the new layout, Its generally a good circuit for racing/passing, However it doesn't really get me excited about going there like the old layout did. I'd always look forward to Hockenheim because it was awesome watching the cars in ultra low downforce mode doing 200+Mph & then fly through the chicanes. Used to be quite good to see the slow-mo shots RTL/WIGE used to show of the kurb hopping through the ostkurve chicane.

Old Hockenheim - 3 bona fide overtaking spots
New Hockenheim - 3 bona fide overtaking spots

I'd say the old layout had 4 overtaking spots as overtaking was possible into all 3 chicanes & the turn into the stadium.

Massa, Rosberg and Alonso usually play don't they?

Button was in Guernsey with Jake today so I doubt he is

Michael + Nico were at the Mercedes factory today. Schumi certainly gets the hideous trousers award...
