This is a Tilke track. These tracks are designed for F1 in the first place. F1 has failed to deliver on every occasion (2005 was a good race but nothing more). Hence this is a bad track. Don't care how good other series race on it, that is only a bonus.
So of course it is because F1 are bad cars. But if a track is built around F1 and F1 fails, the track has failed.

But that is of course just my opinion.

F1 has put on interesting races at Turkey as well, by F1 standards.

Not the track's fault that the average F1 car today cannot follow at anything closer than 1.5 seconds.

When the DDDs are banned for next year, racing will pick up everywhere, as they did in Australia, Malaysia and Bahrain last year, before everyone had the chance to install the bloody things.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

That battle with Glock was just mind blowing.

The track is probably the best circuit at the moment from an overtaking point of view and every series that's raced there has proved that, except F1

Using this sort of logic, tracks like Thruxton are WAY better because Renault Clios can overtake lots on it.

Comparing series to series is meaningless.

I have 3 curiosities regarding Red Bull for this weekend:

first: after seen Webber go full throttle in Campsa(Turn 9) in his Barcelona's pole, I wonder if the Red Bulls will go flat out through Turn 8 in Istanbul.

second: with the introduction of their f-duct and the longer lap time of Istanbul Park, I'm expecting a difference beyond 1 second between the pole and the 3rd place.

thrid: I wonder if they will break Schumacher's record of 1.25.8(V8 engine record).

I think Turn 8 has been flat out since 2006. I'm not entirely sure.

What I am sure of is that it won't be flat out next year.

It probably won't be flat in a Hispania tbh

I'm just saying it won't be. If they manage it then kudos to them

no way! Hamilton said last year that he have never taken Turn 8 flat out. Actually, I have never seen an onboard or read someone saying that had took it flat out.

Go to formula1.com and watch Raikkonen's Q3 lap from last year to see how much he lift off. Vettel, in his pole lap, lift a bit less and keep the speed around 275km/h through the 2nd and 3rd apexes(the tightests of that corner) :

Hopefully, the pole(a RBR of course) this year will take it flat out for the first time(I suppose)

It probably won't be flat out in any car that isn't a Red Bull.

I noticed the difference between Webber's pole lap at Monaco at Kubica's 2nd place lap was that Webber was indistuingshably flat through the swimming pool, while Kubica lifted.

I noticed that too, he carried a lot of speed in that part.

During the BBC F1 Forum in Spain Martin Brundle was saying that the RBR has so much more grip compared to it's rivals that it was taking turn 9 at Barcelona 20mph quicker than any car. That is an outrageous differential.

I would like to see their top speeds then to see if they were carrying more wing or something. But that is daylight difference in speed.
