I know I'm going to expose myself as a less-than-dedicated-F1-nerd here but...ever since they reconfigured Silverstone, I have a hard time discerning what part of the track they're on. Doesn't matter if I'm watching external views or onboards, the new layout confuses me a lot.

Russell with a cracked mirror, if bad luck wasn't enough

Welp, Merc brought upgrades and are still .7 tenths down on Red Bull

Season continues to be over.

Red Bull look even faster compared to Mercedes than in Austria :8:

going from "oh this could get exciting" during the first race to "Oh no wait, same old same old" in the next few weekends to "oh no wait, same old but different driver" now.

hopefully the 2022 cars bring what the FIA actually expects from them.

2012 was perfect. You never knew who would win or be on the podium.
Maybe teams should be forced to build their cars from scrap parts from vintage cars. "Sustainable development" is the key these days anyway. Gearbox that was used by Arrows in 1999? Perfectly usable! Clutch used by Benetton in 2001? Excellent.
Hoped results: Only 6 cars finish the race on average. Talk about unpredictability.

Just realized that if you demolish your car in FP1, and cannot qualify, it's the whole weekend ruined. Unless you manage to gain places in the sprint qualifying, it's a pretty harsh scenario.

No different than destroying the car in FP3 and being unable to take part in traditional qualifying and starting from the back (or pitlane). Here at least you have a chance to salvage some places in sprint qualifying if you have a decent car.

True. Although traditional qualifying won't give you points like sprint races. And before FP3 you probably had gathered good data already from Friday. But in sprint weekends, if you destroy the car in FP1, then Saturday FP2 is the only chance to set the car (or not due to parc ferme?).

Wonder if Saturday FP2 will become a fiasco because of the parc ferme rules and the risk of damaging the car. But whatever happens, I don't think Brawn will cancel Monza and Brazil sprint races. The man's obsessed with the idea.

Knowing FIA and F1 it'll be labelled a success even if there's no overtaking

Sometimes I wish F1 fans where more like football supporters. They would simply refuse to show up for the sprint race and plaster the trackside with anti sprint race banners.

I´m watching qualy and I notice that I just don´t give a damn because the starting grid for the race won´t even be decided now. So why bother watching?

What happened to Lewis? Dutch tv said he was doing another lap and it showed he set the fastest time in sector 1 but then nothing. He must have aborted then. But why?

Oh great, crowd shots. How I did not miss them. Expecting them to cut to crowd whenever they should be showing important events tomorrow and on Sunday.
