In the support races, the cars on the 2nd row were able to get a massive slipstream at the start. IF Max or Perez can make a good start, they may just have a chance to have a lunge at the first corner. Unlikely, but fingers crossed.

IF Merc play a team game, they can protect that by maybe letting Bottas slipstream to T1 and take the lead then give the place back a few laps later when the threat has gone

You know, like Ferrari did in Russia at T1 before Vettel then decided he was bigger than the team and didn't redress the balance.

Big IF though...

So, since it's the hottest race of the season and the tyres have proved to be fragile so far this year, the prudent decision by most teams seems to be: nurse the tyres through a one stop race

:slaphead:

If I were a driver I'd be begging the team to let me have at least 2 stops so there's no danger of punctures and you could also drive more aggressively as a consequence.

the first driver to attempt a second stop will rape the field

unless it's a Ferrari

A second stop will make them all do so, so Hamilton or Verstappen wins.

Would be great, but never going to happen with Bottas. He wouldn't defend like Rosberg did

Thing is it's all down to track position. If you pit earlier and rejoin into the traffic, the race is over.

Lol. Giving tracing points designs to hold up Ferrari and RBR and they end up hindering Bottas.

I’m long overdue in sharing this info, but I don’t think I EVER hear Valteri Bottas’s name without immediately thinking of Slartibartfast.
