As I already said, the situation concerning Hamilton and Verstappen were complete opposite. Hamilton got one of the most testing mileage ever(if not THE most) and had done thousands of km in a Mclaren before Alonso. Verstappen had pretty much no testings but has always been on pace since day one.

Regardless of the amount of testings, though, it's unexcusable for Stroll to be so consistently slow(1.2s, or so, behind Massa on every single session). Was Palmer this bad whenever he debuted? I didn't follow that but suppose not.

Uh, it sounds like you're just making excuses for Stroll. If he was ever worth ANYTHING, it wouldn't matter if it was a 2014-2016 spec car or not.

Oh, you got me. I'll admit that I'm a massive Stroll fanboy and here's the proof:

Some might argue that those "excuses" can otherwise be seen as facts(in relation to what was said about Stroll having the most testings since Villeneuve, which was incorrect in terms of proper testings with the actual car he was gonna race with) and, with those, one makes whatever he wants of it. I made my position clear but even like that someone got butthurt/insulted(which confirms what was said on the other thread)

If you re-read my post, I never hinted that you're a fan of Stroll, just that you're making excuses for him. The fact is, he's not ready for F1 right now. He's had plenty of testing by today's standards and still doesn't seem very competent. That's all.

Who was insulted? It certainly wasn't me.

Also, I don't see how siggy's post was an "attack" but there you go. Monaco will surely be interesting. :)

I don't need to re-read your post. I know that you were wrong (and still are) about me making excuses(something typical of fanboys, so I was ironic about it). I never said he was ready or that he didn't have "plenty of testing by today's standards". I merely stated the FACT that he didn't have the most testings since Villeneuve. An excuse is precisely when someone is trying to make a case based on almost nothing factual. I didn't make any case and even expressed my opinion which was also negative about Stroll.

Now my suspicion is sort of confirmed and I know why you got offended and came up with this "making excuses" bulshit. It's because of what I said about siggy.

Well, you do realise that when someone says "you do realise" he's being very condescending, don't you?! It was pretty poor from him to do that just because someone evaluate the whole Stroll situation differently than him.

In a way, I'm not surprised tones of members don't post here anymore. Whenever someone thinks differently than the pack, he get's picked on.

Could one of those pesky Torro Rosso's cause a bit of an upset and steal some points off a Merc or Ferrari? Their one lap pace on the super soft tyre looked fantastic, and the ultra soft wasn't shabby as well.

Condescending? I'm sorry, not my intention and not how I wrote/read it. Just pointing out that the amount of troubles he has, compared to the amount of testing, is disproportional by a land slide.

I secretly wish that something massively shenaniganny happens during qualy and they lock the front row.

Or more realistically : wishing for Kvyat to be on the podium.

Stroll was rushed to a F1 seat. The proper thing to do is do one year or two in F2 and attending practices in F1 paying to drive for at least 5 races on FP1 while gets experience with other younger drivers

but now he's like a sort of Sergio Canamassas with unlimited money and must improve that

I'll bet a tenner that Kvyat self-detonates in the race if he quallies it into top 5.

I'm still enjoying Fabs' use of "wall sex" a couple of pages ago.

Hehehehehehe

Anyway, Stroll hating isn't a bandwagon. It's the future.

15 place penalty for Jenson. He feels like home at the back of the grid.

I believe you didn't mean it that way but it can come across that way, to some. ;)

Grosjean is quick but the guy is annoyingly erratic. I guess he makes like 5 times more mistakes than anybody else.

Ferrari seems to be confortable for pole but the RBs and Mercedes are very close. Amazing to see STR this close all weekend, hope Kvyat and Sainz don't get too excited and keep it clean on QLF. Renault factory team seems like a joke in comparison to it's "customers".
