and what about the situation of Lewis? When he was overtaken by everyone after his incident, is that an on track pass? Or when Alonso was stationary after his incident? Are those concidered to be on track passes?

And several drivers passed Webber and Hamilton on their first corner incident, but I don't see them in the list.

These figures do not include positions gained in the pits, position changes on the first lap of the race, or gained when a car has a serious technical problem (e.g. puncture, accident damage etc.)

But Webber and Hamilton clashed in lap 5 :P

Yeah but passes like that when one car is stationary on the track after a spin (Webber) or when a driver is totally unable to defend (Hamilton) aren't counted as well cause it's not really 'overtaking' then, is it?

I guess part of the problem is we know Vettel ran slightly wide to allow Button to pass him, but how many people actually saw di Resta pass de la Rosa.

The situation where Massa passed Heidfeld under SC (one due to Alonso crash) was due to Heidfeld having passed Massa earlier just after SC was deployed - and the situation was asked to be reversed by the race control.

Had Gutierrez been called up by Sauber, he would have been 20 days old when Schumacher made his debut. I kind of want Schumacher to continue long enough for someone to be younger than his F1 career.

That would be cool. I'm guessing that would be a first as well because of drivers getting into F1 earlier and doing more seasons due to better safety.

I think I'm right in thinking Schumacher has the longest F1 career, now just short of 20 years long, so probably yes.

Though not quite the same, someone like Louis Chiron can be argued to have acheived a similiar feat.

Just finished reading the thread. I would've loved to be a part of it during the race. In before the HoF!

Doesn't Rubens have more Grand Prix season? He started in 1993, so that's one year after Michael's first season.

Yes, but for an actual F1 career, Michael is a few months off of 20 years (from August 1991). Rubens started in 1993, so its been 18 years.

Of the regular GP2 drivers, Kevin Mirocha (born October 7, 1991) could make that happen. But he hasn't done too well in his junior formulae career so I highly doubt that.
