Ted Kravitz was saying that the speculation suggests Alonso has managed to secure a lot of funding from Spanish firms including some media company's & that if he can't agree a McLaren deal he'll take that funding to Lotus.

He's also apparently had some contact with Williams.

Ron Dennis has also been quoted as saying that he's after a driver he can trust, Which may rule Alonso out anyway given what happened in 2007.

Will Buxton just tweeted that Alonso told him that he won't be powered by a Mercedes engine next year which I guess rules out the Lotus speculation Ted Kravitz was talking about.

Race wasn't brilliant but i've seen far worse, There was at least some overtaking at times through the race.

I also don't think it was really totally down to the track, Fuel consumption was high so everyone was managing that, They were also managing tyres a bit through the 1st stint & both saw the field spread out a lot.

If you consider that he lost out on several points in Melbourne, Monaco (???) Canada and Belgium due to stuff outside his force it would be extremely sour if the double points would play a massive role. The only time he was gifted points was in Silverstone.

Fisichella comes to my mind: Jordan in 1997, returned in 2002 and again in 2008 when the team was known as Force India.

Mansell also: drove for Williams in 1985-88, then 1991-92 and returned once more in 1994.

I find it really appalling all this hate towards a country and I'm glad this GP is finished for this reason.

I couldn't have expressed it any better. This kind of behaviour only reveals stupidity and narrow mindedness, but then again, that doesn't surprise me around here anymore.

Only positive thing so far is that the drivers look happy so our fear of bianchi has passed away seem wrong
