NBC's coverage so far is basically identical to SPEED's last year. Which sadly means Hobbs is still drunkenly floundering around and Matchett is pointing out all the most obvious things with his effing screen-pen thing (i.e indicating what "vertical movement" is via some squiggles.) The more things change the more they stay the same.

So I'm not missing much

So this is what I've got to look forward to? Thanks for the heads up.

People expected anything different from the old SPEED crew on an NBC broadcast?

I have no expectations, and infact, I'd not seen any annoucements from NBC about the coverage on the build up to the season. Speed was frustrating, but I can't complain too much as at least I have live F1 to watch.

Just realized with HRT gone we will have 6 drivers going out in Q1 & Q2. I wonder if there will be one team that joins the Caterhams and Marussias being dumped in Q1 like the Toro Rossos, or if it will be a close fight between a few of the weaker teams?

Mclaren doing a 2012 Ferrari then.

Still, after 2 practice sessions it does feel a bit 2004, it only took...however many practice sessions you used to get in 2004 on the Friday to work out Ferrari were going to stomp over everyone else, despite the media promising us it would be the closest season ever.

Sorry for calling it like i see it, I know that's a crime here.

On the upside, even 2011 had great racing behind Vettel, so all potential is not lost :)

I believe Williams and Toro Rosso will fight for this "place", but Gutierrez may be in that position sometimes too.

Dudes....and Fabs. It's raining and the tweets are flowing. And the track is wet.

Looks like it'll be a great wet race. For the V8 Supercars anyway :p

the difference is that back in 2004 even during the race Badoer was at Fiorano testing. now the test drivers are doing the simulator during the race to predict conditions

It would be pitch black in Italy during the race.

codename, I really want someone to write a season preview saying the upcoming season will be a damp squib. Phil, your challenge has been set.

Only celebrity I knew in that was Chris Hoy.

There was a Chris Tarrant, but not that Chris Tarrant.
