Official statement from FIA:

FIA.com wrote:
World Motor Sport Council
24/06/2009

The World Motor Sport Council met in Paris on 24 June 2009. The following decisions were taken:

FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

All currently competing teams have committed to the FIA Formula One World Championship.

There will be no alternative series or championship and the rules for 2010 onwards will be the 2009 regulations as well as further regulations agreed prior to 29 April 2009.

As part of this agreement, the teams will, within two years, reduce the costs of competing in the championship to the level of the early 1990s. The manufacturer teams have agreed to assist the new entries for 2010 by providing technical assistance.

The manufacturer teams have further agreed to the permanent and continuing role of the FIA as the sport’s governing body. They have also committed to the commercial arrangements for the FIA Formula One World Championship until 2012 and have agreed to renegotiate and extend this contract before the end of that period.

All teams will adhere to an upgraded version of the governance provisions of the 1998 Concorde Agreement.

The following teams have been accepted for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship.

TEAM - CONSTRUCTOR

SCUDERIA FERRARI MARLBORO - FERRARI
VODAFONE McLAREN MERCEDES - McLAREN MERCEDES
BMW SAUBER F1 TEAM - BMW SAUBER
RENAULT F1 TEAM - RENAULT
PANASONIC TOYOTA RACING - TOYOTA
SCUDERIA TORO ROSSO - STR TBA
RED BULL RACING - RBR TBA
AT&T WILLIAMS - WILLIAMS TOYOTA
FORCE INDIA F1 TEAM - FORCE INDIA MERCEDES
BRAWN GP FORMULA ONE TEAM - BRAWN TBA
CAMPOS META TEAM - CAMPOS COSWORTH
MANOR GRAND PRIX - MANOR COSWORTH
TEAM US F1 - TEAM US F1 COSWORTH

In view of this new agreement and with the prospect of a stable future for Formula One, FIA President Max Mosley has confirmed his decision not to stand for re-election in October this year.

I'd go for him as President

:o Stoddart would have torn this sport into pieces in no time... he's the last guy I'd vote for. The days of amateur enthusiasts are long over when it comes to F1.

Well Jordan's '99 budget was apparently £60 million so it's going down towards the proposed budget cap anyway.

Don't hold your breath. That prick Ecclestone is still on his throne and he's the reason we've gone to Tilke's tracks in new markets seeking (but not finding) more bums on seats, not to mention later starts, night races and pricing Indianapolis out of the schedule. Mosley's impact was just stupid power plays; to me Bernie's the real reason F1 has left the fans behind.

Yea I know, but just let me imagine okey :p But some Tilke tracks aren't that bad, I hope he drops China, Bahrain and Turkey becouse of the low amount of spectators. Damn over here in Holland we are praying to have a Grand Prix, isn't very likely. If they would come to Zandvoort (allthough Assen has a better chance) we would go insane, don't think there would be enough place to host all the spectators.....

*keep on dreaming*

Following your reasonement, right now best tracks are Montmeló, Silverstone & Valencia Street Circuit.

It's Bernie's reasoning. Silverstone and Bahrain are the only circuits from those six that I would like to keep. Maybe Valencia can throw in a decent race this year, who knows, I'll judge it after that. But we would definately need Montreal back...

I'm afraid I wasn't very clear... I mean some tracks are okay if you just look at the amount of spectators. But most of them aren't.

you guys are mad, nothing will change, maybe the teams will get a bit more money, but other than that nothing will change.

Max will step down in October, that's no different to what he said he was going to do in May after nazigate, only yesterday did he say different...

FOTA will work with the FIA to reduce budgets, correct me if I'm wrong but I'd call that a voluntary budget cap, funny cos Saturday FOTA said they wouldn't run in a FIA series with budget caps...

There won't be any changes to the calender.
There won't be any changes to the cars.

Everything will be as before, i.e. coma inducing races.
(save for maybe Toyota doing a bunk at the end of the year).

Are you serious Fabs or just toying around? Max may be out of the seat, but Bernie still covers the money and as long as he does so, it's his way when it comes to dealing the organizers and therefore the calendar.

Nothing will change in terms of the schedule. The only questions consider a venue for British GP and what will happen with the French GP because they still haven't even found a location there and quite frankly I don't see how they will make it on time.

That was sarcasm obviously.

France should be safe, they're building a circuit in a location called Flins-les-Mureaux.
