Wasn't the problem you had to take on Sky Sports to get F1? If you only watch F1 it's just too expensive

I think it's un fair to suggest with sky you are only paying for f1. You get a shed load of good channels in high definition. Ok these are not to everyones taste but it's not like a single sport subscription.
I think Hd pack is £10, the basic pack used to be about £18. It might have all changed recently of course.

You used to be able to get Sky F1 with the HD pack but that changed last year so you had to have Sky Sports, which has made it much more expensive.

I think it's perfectly fair to suggest that really. Sky deliberately package channels together to get maximum money out of you, whilst spreading content out. And for a lot of people they did just get Sky for F1.

Skys packages and options are deliberately complicated. And I'm on Virgin since the girlfriend had it. I won't ever be going back to Sky thanks to the horrendous broadband experiences. I even left them to go to O2, and then Sky bought O2 and Sky had the audacity to try and charge me for reactivating my old account since I'd "come back" to Sky.

Ok, I didn't know you had to take out sky sports for f1. As a current subscriber I am ok on hd. That isn't a great deal. It's too expensive for just the f1 channel even with gp2 and gp3.
But I stand by the comment you get a lot of great content with sky. Its not for everyone I guess.

I'm quite content with my sports package -

Sky Sports 1
Sky Sports 2
Sky Sports 3
Sky Sports 4
Sky Sports News Channel
Sky Sports F1
Eurosport 1
Eurosport 2
BT Sport 1
BT Sport 2
ESPN
Motors TV
Premier Sports

Plus other sports channels that I don't watch for things like extreme sports and horse racing.

I'm a single man who lives alone with no ties or responsibilities, so the expence balances out. No wife or children to provide for, etc.

Out of complete curiosity (because it's been 10 years since I sub'd to Sky as we're with Virgin now), how much do you pay a month for that? and do you get phone/broadband too? (and is that any extra).

Altogether it comes to £70.99 a month. No phone or broadband included.

I have the full Sky package bar Movies, along with Sky Talk and Broadband, I'm also paying for Premier Sports to watch the Nascar

Now all my original joining offers are all over I'm paying £82 a month plus £10 for Premier Sports, I'm getting rid of it when my current phone line contract runs out in April.

When I first got Sky in 2011 I was doing my Technician training at RAF Cosford, I was paying half I am now and I had all the weekends off to watch F1, Nascar and all the sports I could along with much more.

Now I'm on a squadron, fully qualified, away all the time and along with my Karting season I'm hardly going to be in my room to watch Sky.

I'm gonna switch to BT for my phone line and broadband and get free BT Sport. If I am around to watch an F1 race, I'll watch it on BBC if its available or just watch a stream.

Or you can find a local pub in your area that's showing the race and watch all 19 races for free *PLUG PLUG*
;)

Ouch, that's a lot.

Make sure when you cancel Sky to tell them you may come back in the future, give them some bs, that way they'll downgrade your viewing card to a FTV one instead if deactivating it completely, then when you sign up to BT give them the viewing card number and they'll activate it for BTSport, don't rely on their streaming service to get BTSport, they hopelessly underestimated the numbers and the system is down more than it is operating, if you have access to a Sky box it's far better to use that than rely on BT's terrible streaming service.

Also if your box is a SkyPlus one, remember to pull the viewing card and turn it off a couple days before you're due to be disconnected, leave it a month unplugged then plug it back in, with any luck the deactivation code won't still be being sent and you'll be able to use all the PVR functions like before.

l was aware of making your Sky Box into a Freesat box, but I wasn't aware of trying to fool the box into keeping its Sky Plus functions. Cheers Ian.

If only there was an international internet broadcaster... I would pay for such a service.

, the amount of time varies and it's not a scientific fact, so it might not work, but is worth giving it a go.

I'm going to get dutch channel sport1 this year. Now that they've got F1, GP2, GP3 and MotoGP it's worth the money for me. €30 a month but you also get a lot of other channels. I'll still watch the BBC when they have it live though, I don't think the new footprint will affect the reception of the channels where I live. I'm still just in the dark blue color on that map

If you mean the app, it's only accessible in Holland it seems. I'm not going to pay 135 euro to have to VPN hack a stream.

Nope, the tv package on satellite. I have a smartcard for the dutch channels since 2003 (I live 1 km away from the dutch border) rtl7 used to show a lot of motorsport. But now they have lost almost all motorsport rights. So it was cancelling my subscription or upgrading.

All Belgians are now allowed to subscribe to canaldigitaal by the way. You don't need a dutch address anymore, but I think you have to buy the complete starting package (receiver + dish) and let a Dutch dealer instal it in your home

Edit: here is some info: http://www.canaldigitaal.nl/nbu/

Looks interesting, but a satellite dish isn't really an option for me.

will Eurosport France have live broadcast of the practises again?

(what I'm asking is, how can Telenet customers watch as much coverage as possible?)
