Gotta love it when sports journos try other sports >_<

I remember our local paper, in the '95 season preview, describing Senna as 'one of a number of F1 drivers to lose their lives last year'. I'm pretty sure (and thankful) that 'number' was '2'.

I saw an article about Schumacher after his skiing accident talking about his career. It said he crashed at Adelaide '94, handing the championship to Senna.

Rencken's latest column on F1's finances has this:

'Rumours are rife that one of the four is down to its last £5m (10 per cent of the most parsimonious budget) with no relief in sight, and fears abound that even Thursday's meeting, regardless of outcome, could be too late.'

The four he is referring to are Force India, Sauber, Caterham and Marussia (the teams which wrote a letter to Todt questioning the legality of the Strategy Group under EU abuse laws).

Don't think its Force India either, they just penned a new deal with SMIRNOFF

Correct. It isn't them, it's a team further down the grid.

yesterday tv coverage was perfect, they showed several races from 7AM to 9PM, then a special that aired on sunday and then the movie by Asif Kapadia

first time I was able to see some 80's races like 86 Spanish GP and 88 Japanese GP. Other races were Monaco 84, Portugal 85, Suzuka 90, Brazil 91, Donington 93 and Monaco 93.

they could had choose more emotional races like Monaco 92 and Brazil 93 but they finally showed classic races

Indeed. A sad end to a great (but somewhat flawed) career.

Although I fully expect some wild conspiracy theories to come out considering he was writing a book about his time in F1...

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

With the insane long labor of my daughter I was considering giving her Senna as a second name if she would be born yesterday.

and the registry office would accept a name like that?

or they would ask to change the name just like they did with Denis Bergkamp

Senna Proctor was accepted here.

funny that even though Senna is displayed as national hero and so, I've never met no one named Ayrton around here, but several people named Michael and even one kid called Ronnie Peterson

And there's a footballer called Creedence Clearwater Couto

Strange there isn't more Ayrton's in Brazil then.

My friend called his son Ayrton. It doesn't go very well with his surname, but I thought it was cool anyway. :p

Whilst we were kind of on the subject of Imola/Tamburello, I found this photo. I didn't realise Berger's car broke up quite so much. 8O

Saw it in Autosport when they had an article on it. Back then I'd thought I was seeing things. Man he really was lucky wasn't he.

Here's another 'old' photo that was posted here before... with an article. He was so damn lucky to survive that one for sure.
