With the fireworks in the background that must look nice.

Moto GP @ Doha is always at night. That's the only reason people like that circuit.
I think Bahrain at night will give a special feature to the race.

The changes they want to make to prevent the delaminations maybe?

I wouldn't think so, the only real argument over that is whether they use a kevlar belt to hold the tread and the sidewall together or glue.

Was apparently that they referred to Di Resta as an Englishman in there post race report.

BBC did an interview with Brawn and one thing he said was really interesting, paraphrasing it was basically, "Pirelli approached many teams and always got the same answer, how much are you going to pay us for the test". Even Horner admitted Pirelli had approached them about doing a test, but dodged the question with a MP type answer when pushed on the subject.

I think there's far more to this than meets the eye so to speak.

So does that mean pirelli did give every team the chance to test? I guess they would have already said that if that was the case, but could be a potential get out for pirelli.

You tell me

More reason for Pirelli to walk away in November?

I wouldn't blame them.

How slighted must Pirelli feel. They get knocked from pillar to post at almost every step. First the degrading tyres and now this. If Pirelli stay in F1 any longer then their reputation will be slaughtered. Pirelli have far far more to loose by staying in F1 than from leaving it.

What utter nonsense. Best thing to happen to F1 in quite sometime and all they get for their work is bitch fest after bitch fest from the drivers, teams, fans, sanctioning body.

If it wouldn't cost them such a staggering amount to break the contract I'd walk away saying fuck off effective immediately.

It wouldn't cost them anything though. Their contract ends at the end of this year. They can walk away without any penalty.

Again, I hope they do. F1 would truly reap what they have sown with the awful tyres they'd have to use next year.

Post subject:  Re: 2013 Random F1 Discussion

Thing is though that if Pirelli were a part of breaking the regulations then they do deserve a penalty.

Whether that hurts Pirelli or not if they broke the rules or ignored conditions set by the FIA then they can't be allowed to walk away unpunished just because any punishment may give them bad PR & see them walk away from F1.

As to the criticism relating to there tyres, I think some of it is deserved as its Pirelli who decide what compounds to make & how they make them.
The tyre degredation & amount of tyre management seen in 2013 isn't ideal, Nor is the delaminations & the changes to the 2013 compounds/construction was purely down to Pirelli so the problems seen with the 2013 tyres is 100% Pirelli's fault.

The delamination issue in particular needs to be fixed as thats potentially a big safety issue.

Post subject:  Re: 2013 Random F1 Discussion

I agree with you on the delaminating tyres, but not on the degrading tyres.
Did the FIA actually issue them with a specific degradation target backed up with measurable data? or did they just say "make them like Canada 2010"? If the FIA actually gave them very specific figures and Pirelli have gone too far, then yes Pirelli need to take the blame. However if the FIA just said make tyres that degrade and spice up the show, then the fault lies with the FIA. Me thinks the latter.

Or maybe use the Avon wheels used for Historic Grand Prix races?

That would be interesting!
