If he really wanted to cause an issue he wouldn't have gone so far down the escape route. You'd park just in front of the barrier.

For me it just looked like he went in deep, had an "oh shit" moment and decided to do the wise thing and go the escape road, otherwise he would have binned it like Erricson.

Oh jeez, this has really bought the fanboyz out...

I'm sure the stewards will have demanded telemetry as they did for Schumacher, and will be comparing it with previous laps. Even bad F1 drivers are still pretty consistent with braking, so it should be pretty obvious from the comparisons if it was deliberate.

Let's also bear in mind that this sort of gamesmanship does pre-date MSC. Senna tried it on more than once, but seems to have had a better strike rate. I'm sure it wouldn't take much digging to find other examples.

(Blatant Cheat thread, anyone? :P)

He would have done that if Schuey wasn't penalised in the past. He must have tried something different.

man, lot of naive people in this forum. I would like to read later what will be their opinion when Rosberg gets the penalty for cheating.

Why would he? He isn't even investigated for that and there's no formal complaint from anyone (certainly not from the Merc team).

Merc wouldn't have send a complaint against themselves. Rosberg is in a much better situation than Schuey was.

It's in RBR and Ferrari's interest that Mercedes drivers fall out. It's their only chance to somehow get a foot in the door. So no, I wouldn't expect them to fill a complaint just to make the whole deal more awkward.

So you are telling me you think a driver who..

a) has been practicing start settings all week to give him a chance off the line even if he's not on pole

b) was quicker than Lewis on the first run

c) is in by far the best car on he grid

d) is known for his intelligence

e) is still only a handful of points behind in the championship

Would risk his reputation, relative harmony within the team and a massive grid drop by doing something that stupid?

Thinking otherwise is not naivety in the slightest; it's a valid opinion.

Apparently the investigation is unofficial and the stewards are debating making it official. Eh?

You don't know what goes behind the Mercedes door.

No no, people still think that about Senna, me included, even though I was a huge fan of his. His self righteousness and hypocrisy was total douchebaggery, but strangely it kinda had an endearing quality about it, that made me overlook the fact that he was actually a dangerous bastard on the track.

Hamilton to me, though possesing some of Senna's traits just doesn't endear to me, yet when Alonso pulls the same shit, it kinda does. Strange.

Funny you should say that...

... forgetting my friends who work there, this is solely my opinion. None of the points I made had anything to do with knowing what was going on behind the scenes.

All but one of your posts have been in this thread, crowing about how Rosberg is a cheat and will be penalised.

You are Nicole Scherzinger and I claim my five pounds :D

Rosberg might just had a Schumacher insight "everything possible to win"

funny that he might not get a penalty but he could retire in the race

I should add that I kind of understand Lewis being a bit grumpy - Rosberg blatantly acted up after it happened to try and get Hamilton to have a sulk. Mind games ;)

Should be a fun race tomorrow. Think the lid is firmly coming off the Mercedes team harmony jar now. Good for all of us as viewers!

Do any of your friends there have access to your posts? Cause if they do you should have a permanent disclaimer at the bottom of each of your posts. People can tend to be petty over things like that
