Cool. Seems like a good spot to watch from. Depending on what happens, I might wander around a little.

Does the media pass let you walk round the track itself then?

No idea. I guess so.

There are different levels of pass usually.

I'm sure someone will 'politely inform' me if I'm in the wrong area. It won't be pit/grid access; and I think on a media pass you can't go properly trackside unless you pick up a photographers placard.

Ah damn you :p I can still shotgun the floor

Only if you sneak me into the paddock. :p

You know I have a 0% chance of that happening. The documentation reads something like 'ONLY the person listed will be issued with a pass' etc etc!!

LOL I guess they've got wise to people sneaking in in the back of vans hidden in a stack of tyres...

I always thought that stopped thanks to the Indy 2005 incident...

I've moved all posts relating to Maria de Villota's accident to a separate thread.

I realise I'm a fanboy and all that, but received the autosport magazine reviewing the European GP in my postbox yesterday. Naturally I was very excited to start reading what they had to say and how they rated the drivers.

Raikkonen got 5/10, with only Karthikeyan, Senna and Vergne scoring worse. Seriously, I realise he lacked a bit of agression, but then again he placed a good overtake around the outside of Maldonado and pushed Hamilton until the latter's tyres went off. The article also mentions that he was outshone by his teammate, what is partially true. But then again, a great start was ruined when Maldonado moved over. As I said, I realize I'm a fanboy... but to rate for instance Massa & Button's races higher than Kimi's. Well, that's not very fair now, is it :?

yes, I fully agree with you there. But then again, maybe he is 'afraid' he will lock-up and destroy the tyres?

In my opinion Kimi still plays the waiting game too long and he thinks things will fall in place for him with things like high fuel loads, tyres going off, mistakes of the drivers ahead that might happen ... but that will simply not happen. He needs to be more pro-active (like in his McLaren days).

F1 drivers don't play to stereotypes.

I mean, Petrov isn't being the typical outdoorsy-by-a-lake-with-dogs Russian oh

I didn't know they were a couple.

Why would he need a manager if his relationship is already good enough to gain a seat for next year?

Two theories running around so far;

1) Paul has signed a long-term deal with either Mercedes or McLaren and has now jettisoned his manager because he won't need him for the foreseeable future.

2) Paul has been told that the Hulk is the first choice if Schumacher hangs it up and has split with Anthony in acrimony over this.

I think McLaren would be taking a huge gamble if they cheap out and go with Jenson & Paul.

More likely to me is that Anthony Hamilton was negotiating to get Paul into Mercedes but they reckon Michael will stay on.

Another interesting dynamic is Jaime Alguersuari. He's said recently that he will be back in a race seat in 2013 & the smart money is on Force India. Someone inside the Mercedes-Force India group is going to get unhappily shafted.

Well, that's nothing new for them. Fisichella would have been booted for Liuzzi if he hadn't gotten the Ferrari seat. Liuzzi was booted for Di Resta. Sutil was booted for the Hulk.
