If de Vries performs well this year, he might miss his shot at McLaren.

Do you really want a shot at McLaren now? We'll see about Magnussen, but it doesn't look they have much faith in whatever driver they have now. Oh, isn't it good to have Ron Dennis back? There was way too little bullying going on in the paddock when he was out. :flag:

Instead McLaren went from being a great team to pathetic jokes under the Whitlessmarsh reign. And besides, what bullying has Dennis done since being back in charge?

As a young driver these days, any decision you make concerning an F1-team is the wrong one.

I guess history will tell, but Button hasn't exactly been very cheery towards the team lately. And Magnussen hasn't really been given much vocal support either. They are not really standing behind any of their current driver at all.

I really hope for anyone who is driving for Mclaren next year they have done a Honda 2008 kinda thing, focusing mostly on the car of next year. Otherwise I expect another useless year for 2015 (not knowing what Honda might bring to the team).

McLaren aren't saying anything about anything really. Same for Dennis. He's been largely silent compared to previous the previous times he's headed the team. Remember that they are still trying to undo the wrongs of the Whitmarsh era.

@dicksplash: that post about not having to fear a rookie was *not serious* in that I referred to Hamilton 07 scenario.

as for the third cars. What is the likelihood of it happening for 2015?

it seems that Grosjean was a bit too fast with this one, because it is still not confirmed and he had to delete his message.

Interesting development yesterday - Button promised on Twitter that news about next year will be announced soon, and Mark Webber replied:

Webber's tweet seems to have been deleted since.

Button replied to that with 'one day'

Dutch site f1today.nl speaks of Sainz jr being a potential candidate for the McLaren seat next year, because of his Movistar backing which would then become the main sponsor for McLaren.

That would be taste.

They aren't exactly the most reliable source for those kinda news.

Would be fucked up for Vandoorne or De Vries and ofcourse Magnussen. Why have a Junior program, when you don't give them a proper chance.
