They brought in the rule for quali only, after the race it seems to be fine. I suppose calculating for a whole race is very different to a short quali run so in the race they allow it.

Hamilton's car had 1.3 litres of fuel remaining in tank after he stopped. You need 1lt for FIA sample and approx 2lt for in lap.

So you need three litres in the car and Hamilton had less then half that.

So McLaren underfilled the car.

If they did that deliberately, that's fucking retarded. If it was an accident (judging by their pit crew recently, not a remote possibility)...it's still fucking retarded.

Either way, Lewis starts from 6th.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Yeaa, it's retarded especially if accidental. Then you've got to worry about them filling the car enough for the race.

James Allen saying that the scrutineers only need 0.5l for a sample.

Which would probably mean he's safe.

Everyone currently enjoying themselves at the Williams birthday party.

Do you think they only delete his fastest lap?
If he is guilty, it means the team have cheated. I don't think they only cut his fastest lap of Q3, but probably send him to the back of the grid.

Quote:
Under the rules, drivers are supposed to return to parc ferme under their own power and with a minimum of one-litre of fuel on board to be able to supply a sample to the FIA.

It is not acceptable for drivers to stop early simply to save petrol for the sample - because that would give them a competitive advantage as they could run with less fuel, and therefore less weight, during their qualifying lap.

Following a directive issued at the 2010 Canadian Grand Prix, after Lewis Hamilton and McLaren were given a reprimand and a $10,000 fine for stopping deliberately on a slowing down lap after qualifying to save fuel, the FIA has made it clear that only genuine technical problems would be acceptable.

FIA race director Charlie Whiting said in a note issued on race morning in Canada: "Any team whose car stops on the slowing down lap after the race will be asked by the stewards to explain why this happened.

"If they are not satisfied that the reasons were beyond the control of the driver or team, and feel that this has been done deliberately to gain a competitive advantage, appropriate action will be taken."

Article 6.6.2 of the 2012 Technical regulations:
Quote:
Competitors must ensure that a one litre sample of fuel may be taken from the car at any time during the Event.

Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the stewards of the meeting), if a sample of fuel is required after a practice session the car concerned must have first been driven back to the pits under its own power.

Prob for Hamilton seems to have been in pits with fuelling. After Canada 2010 where McL didn't have enough fuel it's touch and go here

Hamilton could lose his Q3 times, so he'd be 8th. If he loses just pole time he'll be 6th behind Perez.

Vettel/Schumacher did a in/outlap, I guess? So he will be 9th? But I don't think he will come away with only deleting his times.

He's been thrown out of qualifying.

Unbelievable.

I hope he blisters whichever numbnut was overseeing the fueling process during qualifying.
