It´s the first time in F1 history that two Dutch drivers score points in the same season, let alone in the same race. |

Another bad race. Let’s hope Singapore can be fun because this is turning into Schumacher 02 or 04 dominance |

I prefer BTCC where they add extra laps for time under safety car. |

Probably need to re-introduce re-fuelling for that to be a possibility in F1. |

I suppose you can mandage a certain kg of fuel to be left in the tank after the regular race distance which is enough for 3 extra laps + the fuel sample Means you’ll have three more laps to clean things up, or simply red flag it. Or accept a finish under SC every now and then Or simply leave the procedure up to the race director’s discretion. Today the entire procedure could’ve easily and safely been done with time get one more lap in. Yet it wasn’t possible because the rules dictate a procedure which costs a lot of time. I think that’s the part that’s most frustrating about today’s SC finish, not finishing under SC itself |

If the safety car picked up the right driver in the first place there would have been a one or two lap shoot out. It took it two (three?) laps to find Max. Get it right the first time and we wouldn't be having this conversation. |

So this weekend we had Italian fans booing Verstappen even though he clearly had no role in the race finishing under SC. Italian fans where singing that Verstappen's mom was a whore during practice and there where Italians going around the stands harassing people in Verstappen gear telling them to take it off. And we all know the stories from Austria etc by the Dutch fans....... I dont like where F1 fans are going. |

You only have to read the comments on F1's social media pages. So many idiotic, toxic 'fans' either slagging off Max or Lewis (sorry, 'Lulu'). There's no common sense middle ground, where you support one driver but can still appreciate the talent of others. |

It's the "you're with us or you're against us" mentality that has taken over not just sport but politics and so many facets of life which social media has driven. |

And paid a ticket which costs at least half my wage (and possibly theirs as well...) to do so. |

It's always been brewing. Tiffosi have always been vocal but had no real fan bases to shoot off of. Then came Hamilton with his fan bases but things were still mostly civilized. Then came DTS and Max and all hell broke loose. None of these stories were heard about prior to 2020. Max fans have been triggering the rest, IMO. |

Hamilton was fighting for the championship alone ever since Rosberg retired. And with Nico, it was much more civilized on track. Max has the talent, and then a VERY agressive and defined stile. It made the grey area of what is hard racing vs what is stupid and somewhat bad sportmanship much less grey. Then Hamilton also changed his way a little. And the whole fight was so intense. Hard not to be on either side. So many people had enough of him winning, like Dixon at Indy and JJ at Nascar. A lot of things going for it. But yeah, a real shame people pick a side and can't just enjoy the show. I just wonder how Senna vs Prost fallout would be if all that happened nowadays. |

and now for some good stats after this infamous race: -Max Verstappen equals Nigel Mansell in number of victories (31 - joint 7th in all time wins); -First time since 1974 a driver starting 7th in Monza wins the race (last one was Ronnie Peterson driving for Lotus); -First time in history two dutch drivers score points in the same race; -First time since 2006 a Williams finish on points on his debut (Nico Rosberg finished 7th on Bahrain GP also scoring 2 points like Nyck De Vries) -First time a driver that raced for two teams in the same weekend scored points (pending confirmation) |
