Indeed a pity, especially for Rosberg and Raikkoenen, but at least the FIA corrected this mess for the rest of the season.

Red Bull's PR work is also quite amusing. At first Helmut Marko states in every mic that the floor is legal. Then they get this verdict by the FIA. Now he tells a German website that they do not have to change the car for Canada because they wanted to use a different aero-configuration without holes in the floor anyway.

I'm a bit surprised that Kovalainen and Glock are earning seven figure salaries given performance of their teams.

I read that last week. Williams certainly have the best value for money across all the grid.

Probably a retainer from the team as part of bringing the sponsors.

Sports stars really are overpaid, I mean 10mill?? That's pocket money compared to some in other sports.

for putting a legendary car off the road time and again? dear me ... Enzo Ferrari wouldn't even allow him to drive a Ferrari if he (Massa) paid €10m

Red Bull drivers get massive bonuses though. Something like a million a win apparently.

If someone loses it in the first right hander of the esses he starts taking at 0:36, it's a huge head-on crash in the barriers guaranteed.

Apart from that, some good sequences of corners and the lap looks long (1:45!) but nothing hair-raising. It's a modern track after all.

I doubt it. It'll be like Maggotts/Becketts/Chapel at Silverstone.

I think it's also worth remembering they are different types of pay-drivers so to speak.

They are of course the wealthy titled, a dying breed, who use the family silver to fund get a drive and are probably paid nothing. But the current F1 drivers, the money is not theirs, they are in nearly all cases talented drivers who hae sponsors willing to back them. And so the conversation I imagine would be along the lines of I've got companies X, Y and Z willing to sponsor you £25, but in return I want paid £1.

That corner at 0:51 was originially a fast left sweep, but they tightened it up for some reason.

Nothing inspires me about the COTA yet, (except maybe that turn 1 looks like a Mirrored A1 Ring turn 1 with the gradient I guess..) but I'm going to have to wait until we see this thing in operation before I get all "OMG TILKE TRACKS SUXORSSS!" etc
