Usually the Cold tyre phase after a pitstop lasting up to a lap vs a car undercutting on hot tyres is the only exciting part of DTM races.

Also a lot of the season of F1 takes place in hot hot heat countries where they could get a similar effect on the tyres just leaving them out in the sun for a while

Drivers are definitely being too cautious on this, because warm tyres are all they've ever known (and what are the tempertures on the tyres after theyve sat for 45 seconds to a minute on the grid waiting for the rest of the pack to grid up anyway?)

After the first 3 or 4 races with no tyre warmers, it'll become the new normal again and life will go on, they're just trying to cling to what they have because their skillset is based on the current regs and they don't want to have to learn a new skillset regarding colder tyres.

But they'll learn eventually.

Drivers should use their feet more like a precision tool rather than an on/off switch

this is one thing I feel like most major series are screwing up as they keep aiming for the light switch

finesse with the throttle is a dying breed in several major genres at this rate

this is what i've loved about picking up sim racing, is really getting a sense of the finesse and control professional drivers have had over their cars - especially the older ones. the newer gt3 cars are fun to drive because of the abs, traction control, etc - but man, learning not to "need for speed" on a 1970's f1 car has given me another level of respect for this sport we love so much

The thing about Vegas is the landmarks around the track. And maybe those long straights can see multiple lead changes on the final laps....
