Forgot how bad the STR near miss in Baku quali was. That would have been a nasty crash if he'd hit the back of his teammate.

Frankly, I thought we wouldn't see this announcement. I was imagining they would announce Stroll together with an announcement of the 'new' team. It surprised me to see him with Force India stuff.

Well, they nearly married the announcements up.

FIF1 is now RPF1.

Also some number announcements in there; Norris recycles #4, Kubica #88, Giovinazzi #99 and Russell the only one to use a brand-new number with #63.

Lando's not sticking with 47?

Support cancelled :cry:

Isn't #47 McLaren's reserve number?

Seem to recall Stoffel using it for that one race at Bahrain.

I thought it was #46, but it was #47 indeed that he used at Bahrain 2016, while replacing Alonso. It's basically the same thing with #36 for Sauber, which Giovinazzi used when replacing Wehrlein, and that was used by Marciello too when he was their reserve driver.

So they called FI Racing Point because they are going to score a single point the whole season?

Also remarkable that Verstappen hit everything moving and stationary in the first couple of races, then after about Monaco he toned it down.

Until the last few races that is.

Still about the numbers. Interesting video - the final 3 minutes provide a good explanation of the current number system plus some interesting facts.

- Once a driver picks a number and races with it, the number becomes locked for the next two seasons;
- Some numbers are assigned to the teams for them to use with reserve drivers (as per #36 with Sauber and #47 with McLaren);
- Most numbers from #2 to #30 have already been used, with 15# being the lowest still to be used;
- The numbers from #31 to #99 however, have only 15 which have already been picked;
- #66 is the only one out of the multiples of 11 that is yet to be used.

I was unaware that Charles Leclerc with 21 races under his belt is Ferrari's greenest signing since Stefan Johansson (13). So I decided to write a piece about four others with the least experience during that period (with a caveat of maximum 50 races experience) to land at Ferrari, and how they fared. Hope y'all enjoy it.

You seem to have forgotten that Berger also went to McLaren for a couple of years and that he scored some victories there as well.

Ricciardo has confirmed that he did have a deal agreed in principle with Ferrari for next season until someone vetoed it.

Pretty interesting. My guess is it was Vettel, as they kept the talks with Kimi later on the season.

Vettel will have much more trouble with LeClerc than if Riccardo had joined imo

Only if Ferrari allows it; they're not the kind of team to tolerate teammate rivalry, they'll just set strategy and team orders to favour the driver they want ahead. IMO it would have been a bad move for Dan unless Vettel left or was completely thrown under the bus by the team.
