I'm more interested/concerned when Charlie Whitting says they rely on the teams radio about what incidents to look at. That is why you get radio calls like the one we had to Ocon to state clearly that he needs to whinge about the other driver. It is why we get inundated by all these pathetic "blue flags, blue flags come on honestly" radio calls.

I found that interesting too because just by watching the world feed, you should actually be able to see most of the incidents. Now that the race director and crew have to rely on radio calls, that doesn't sound super advanced to me.

With cameras everywhere and GPS tracking, surely it would be easy to monitor stuff

I get the impression that they need more eyes in race control. It's like they have enough to watch the world feed, but then don't have enough to analyse an incident at the same time.

The question is whether they actually watch the world feed or are just overwhelmed by all the monitors they have  I just read Vettel escaped a penalty for not putting his steering wheel back because no one reported it to the stewards. Come on, you guys really suck!

There's a reason it wasn't reported. Race was over, fans would be flooding the track, remember at Monza when the fans stripped EVERYTHING off a car that had broken down on track with a few laps to go?

The steering wheel is the easiest component to take from a car, just clips in and out, takes 2 seconds to remove. Vettel took it with him so no-one would steal it, it could easily be valued at $100,000.

He did say after the race that he couldn't get it to clip back on, which is way he went to and fro a few times before deciding to take it for exactly the above reason. I reckon they would let him off on account of that, even if someone did protest.

Yeah that was probably initiated by the AntiVet sentiments on air by Crofty and Brundle.

a man took for himself and installed in his old VW Beetle

FIA released more footage of the Stroll - Vettel incident apparantly showing it's Vettel's fault.

So in the last 2 races he did something that could have given him a ban then?

If so, how dare the FIA preach safety if they dont even dare to ban a driver?

The video on Sky Sports is geolocked, this one isn't though

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/f1-autos ... al-verdict

From Stroll's onboard it looks like he doesn't do much wrong.

To me, it looks like Stroll is normally going through the corner while suddenly Vettel comes from behind, with way too much speed and cuts his line.

Bloody hell, two races in a row where Vettel goes full Grosjean 2012 -mode.

Then there was the Azerbaijan incident.

Clearly he can't figure out how much wider these new cars are. His spatial awareness is poor for this level.
