9, minus points for unchallenged Rosberg and a lack of action in the end, but the 8 goes up to 9 thanks to the great atmosphere and the fans.

Every season has a team that dominates. And often its one driver who is winning all the races. This time we have two drivers who are just as good taking turns winning. When you look at the season as a whole, I think this is one of the most interesting seasons ever.

Cute that you are trying to lecture me on history.

Sure, every season there is a team that stands on top but that's something different than dominance. And even then you've got dominance and DOMINANCE like we're seeing this year. If it wasn't for the collision in Spain, Mercedes would've won every race so far. If they win Singapore as well then I reckon they'll win every other remaining race and we haven't seen such dominance since McLaren in '88. Even Ferrari could be beaten fairly in the second half of 2004. This year is exceptional, partly because of the current rules (no testing, engine tokens, etc.).

Agreed 100%. Ferrari at its early-noughties peak was still beatable because the car advantage was not huge; a lot of it was one driver. Mika or JPM on their top days were a match for Michael.

The testing point is probably the key to this - when McLaren dominated in 1998, Ferrari caught up through massive testing and by the end of the year it was more or less a straight fight. For the past few years, Mercedes have come out of the blocks with a huge advantage and the other teams have been limited to sim work and bolting on new parts with only CFD and simulators to assess them.
