If you're going to go heavy on the mid-2000s races, I'd recommend Monaco 2004 as well. Great battle at the end between Trulli and Button. A rare decent call by James Allen on that one as well

No love for the Alonso/Schumacher battle at San Marino in '05.

There was no chance for overtaking there.

?Entertaining Races in 2003
================
- Australia
- Malaysia
- Brasil
- Canada [4 cars within 2? seconds at the end]
- Britain
- Canada
- USA
- Japan

Other races were pretty good only forgettable race was Spain. F2003GA/Alonso dominance. Malaysia wasn't brilliant but it was Kimi's first win and Alonso's first pole so personally seeing two of my faves do well I remember it better than it probably was. There's a reason I have the whole season on DVD. It was awesome.

Oh also agree with James B on 97. Such a cracking year. Dunno if it's mentioned but Nurburgring, Spa from 1995 were great also. Bit of a Schumacher masterclass though so if you don't like him avoid.

There was still the suspense and uncertainty of one driver making a mistake or Schumacher trying a desperate move.

I guess the English members will be repressing this one though because of ITV's mammoth faux-pas. :p

I don't know if Brazil 2008 was the best race ever but it'll probably go down as the greatest race ever. Certainly for those of us who didn't want the Evil Empire to win, it was the definition of heart-in-mouth - I think mine was on the end of my tongue by the time Lewis passed Glock

Definitely the best in terms of an emotional rollercoaster. But I'd give the nod to Japan 2005 because it was end-to-end action, loads of ballsy overtakes and the race win not decided until the last lap. And it was early in the morning which gave it that little bit more magic. It's just a shame that Montoya went out on lap 1, otherwise it may have been even better, seeing him come through the field as well

Not really. The 2001 Melbourne GP was full of incidents, just as all the other races we have seen there.

Could be the world feed, that was worse than TMC's worst effort, though :p

James B, you talk sense. But what was worth mentioning in Germany 2000? That was terrible

What? It's a brilliant race. You've got Schumacher out at turn 1, Rubens clawing his way through the field with some great passes, a madman running on the track, the resultant safety car mixing the order up, a thunderstorm out of nowhere with rain on half the circuit, a mix of choosing to pit for wets or stay out on slicks, and a tense finish to see if Rubens could hold on for his first win on slicks with Hakkinen on wets, which he did. And then he cried. Loads happening

You must be thinking of a different race. It's an all-time classic

for some reason I had Germany 98 in my head. You are right, 2000 was amazing

Several of them, Suzuka 2005 still stuck in memory here.

But also a favorite of mine is Germany 1989. That was a fun race to watch.

surprised nobody's mentioned Dijon 1979. honestly not sure what most of the race was like but the last few laps were awesome.

Quite a fan of Donnington 1993 and Jerez 1986 myself :-)

let's not forget that Brazil 2008 was very spectacular because of the championship standings at the time. Imagine the race would have been driven earlier in the season like before 2004, then this race would have been fun to watch given the weather... a bit like Spa this year. But nothing too special either.

a real race is Suzuka 2005 although it's a pity the SC had to be deployed for it. A race from the past that I actually quite liked was Detroit 84.

The race was never great, until Glock decided to stay on track.

But is the Jerez race the same thing as the 2008 Brazil or 1979 French Grand Prixs?

Nothing happening until in the last few laps. But then at the Jerez race, Mansell made a great comeback until Senna stole it at the end.

Most part of the race was boring, then it became epic in the last laps. IMO of course.

We should put one race online every day, rate it and make a proper onjective list. ;)
