2007. That was dull.

The key to the weekend will be Pouhon. Everyone knows McLaren will be fast in S1 and S3 because of the long straights, whilst corners like Eau Rouge and Blanchimont will be flat out for all the top teams. If McLaren can take Pouhon flat out then they'll be the ones to beat but if they can't it'll be close. Not to mention that Ferrari should have a good package as well. Remember that in 2009 Red Bull were much better on circuits like Silverstone etc but at Spa they weren't so great...

2007 wasn't dull as long as you just ignored the top 4. Behind them the racing was pretty frenetic. I remember Sutil punching way above his weight that year.

I predict the weather predictions will change every day.

The weather will be very unpredictable this weekend, that I'm sure of.

Here's what Autosport says:

Quote:
Weather patterns have been inconsistent across Europe over the last two months to say the least. The heatwave that central Europe enjoyed during the British, German and Hungarian rounds has long gone, replaced by endless low pressure systems interspersed with a few fine days in between.

This trend is set to continue in the lead up to the Belgian Grand Prix, as an intense 990 millibar area of low pressure makes the familiar trek during midweek, across the Atlantic on a north-east track, covering the UK and off towards southern Scandinavia. The Wallonia region of Belgium is in a knife-edge location, as showers may clip the circuit from time to time throughout the weekend - particularly in the evenings.

Early Forecast On Thursday evening, light or possibly moderate rain will pass through Belgium as much heavier rain skirts past to the north. Conditions will dry out overnight, leaving a dry first practice session on Friday morning. Light showers are possible towards the end of the afternoon, but temperatures will be low at just 17 degrees.

Saturday morning practice is expected to be dry but - towards the end of qualifying and during the GP2 main race - showery outbreaks of rain are set to develop once again. Temperatures will rise slightly to 18 Celsius.

A second area of low pressure will move south east from Iceland during the course of Saturday night and throughout Sunday, across the UK and towards the low countries. Sunday will start dry, but further showers could break out during the afternoon as the leading edge of this next band of rain sweeps in from the north west of Belgium. Temperatures will suffer with a maximum of just 17 degrees Celsius.

So a cool and possibly blustery weekend in store for the teams as Formula 1 hits the road again. Add in the micro-climate that Spa and the Ardennes is famous for and on paper we could be set for a thrilling weekend.

i really think that spa is like nurburgring, you can watch the weather report. But there's like a "micro climat" out there, so that the weather is often unpredictable.
and in that case, the word is still the same : expect the rain 8)
