Yes, the layout currently in use does not go straight after turn 1, but is still absolutely magnificent. The game onboard does not give justice to the elevation. There is no flat section, relentless up and down except for the S/F straight.

Last year I did a passenger ride on an old prototype there. See the pic, think of a 200kph coffin with semblance of a roll cage, not designed for tall people (head was above the top bar, knees against the front bar, feet probably sticking off the front  ). Was worth every one of the 100 euros per lap. They also organize racing classes in old single seaters from the 60s (similar to a current formula ford) but that was out of budget unfortunately. Otherwise it's mostly used for retro events and a truck race, which is a shame, I think modern single-seaters would be crazy to watch and not all that dangerous compared to a track like Saudi Arabia is for F1 for example.

Now: How many different gokarting circuits can you create within this chicane?

You could have just called him Hamilton, but noooo. Nelson Piquet vibes!

Good for him, but what has happened to Oscar Piastri? A month ago he was basically shaping up to replace Latiffi mid season if you believed a lot of the chatter. He then posted on his Instagram that he would be driving at Silverstone shortly (assuming that he was talking about an F1 drive in FP1). That came to pass. It was thought that he would get a run in France. But nothing has been confirmed. Now it is complete radio silence.

Is Alonso once again holding a team hostage? Seems like it.

I realised not long ago that someone built a track near my hometown (Casablanca). Top location, top facilities, but the bastard must be fan of the Paul-Ricard. Look at this:

It's just a shame it doesn't work with current F1 rules. As drivers must keep the same gear ratios for the whole season, full Mistral straight would mean just cars hitting the limiter for a long time. That doesn't look great IMO

I managed to make 11.

You could squeeze in a few more if you go to the bottom chicane and then back to the first chicane but those don't seem realistic.

13 different gokart tracks. If you consider running them in both directions its 26. And that doesn't even include figure 8s.

Thank you guys for the sweet pictures, I probably lost my ability to procreate.

Baku is 2.2km long, Mistral is 1.8km, it could work. Even if it proved too long, maybe they would buff up the wings until the drag matches with max engine RPM just before the limiter?

What's scaring F1 about Mistral is cars having to super-speedway themselves into Signes while arriving there at 350kph in a pack. Mind you that real race car drivers manage that just fine, in the actual top single-seater series. ;)

It is F1. Of course the drivers aren't going to drive accordingly.

After I recovered from the stroke, I was reminded of the tool you must have used to create this war crime:
