Now we're nostalgic, remember 1997 where an unknown rookie Jarno Trulli came from Minardi to replace Panis in the Prost, and was suddenly leading this race until his car broke down? Heartbreak #3 of that season, after Silverstone (Hakkinen broke down), Hungary (Hill) and before Nürburgring (Hakkinen again). Every time Villeneuve inherited the win.

"Irvine was trying to overtake me around ze outside, and certainly, my car fly up"

I remember watching that clip of Alesi flying over Irvine's ferrari thousand of times lol

Chicane is ugly, and indeed, since they removed the gravel in T1 and T2 it's just different, different feel.

The chicane will be only used in MotoGP?

Get ready for a ton of 5 secs penalties for track limits. This will be a joke.

Max is unimpressed with Lewis's comments according to Dutch media:

Quote:
Speaking to the Dutch media on Thursday at the Red Bull Ring, Verstappen was asked about Hamilton’s comments and whether he thought Leclerc was a more sensible driver than he was.

“I think it's quite nice that, at 37 years of age, you can still learn how to hit an apex,” Verstappen replied.

“He is learning, so that is positive. It is also good for younger drivers to know that you are still learning when you are 37 years old.”

Pressed on what he thought when he heard Hamilton’s comments, Verstappen reiterated his point that it was “good that he has found the apex now”.

“You can clearly see in the footage what was different compared to last year,” Verstappen said.

“I think Charles gave him less space than I did last year, so that says it all. And in the end, [Lewis] was the one who got penalised last year, so there's no point talking about that either.”

As Verstappen chases his second straight F1 title, the Dutchman sits 34 points clear of the field with six wins to his name. By comparison, Hamilton is yet to finish a race any higher than third this year amid Mercedes’ struggles under the new regulations.

Asked if he thought Hamilton’s comments were part of the game, Verstappen said he thought they were “a bit blunt”, but would have “no effect on my performance”.

I guess there's hope that, by the age of 37, Max might have learned to brake in a straight line...

(Before the fanboy arguments break out, I'd like to state to the jury that I love how the Really3D videos diplomatically depict both of them as cheats in different ways )

This is everything I hate about F1, it's a race series, not a soap opera :yuk:

I don't even think the drivers have time to think about these things when they're busy racing each other at 200mph, "Max said x about me so I wanna really get by him even more now" "Lewis said y about me, lets push him off the road now" etc, so it's just boring, PR stuff trying to put and extra couple hundred ticket sales on the gate by getting a news story out to people who might have not realised there's another race this weekend

Ho-hum, Max will be champion, Lewis might scrape a win if he's lucky, doesn't really matter if they're feuding does it, they're not likely to be on the same part of the race track unless something odd happens like a long strategy mixing up with a short one... :whistling:

Well, that was clear Lewis bad driving, totally deserved to get burned. Epic commentary by Max.

Yeah, I don't really know why Lewis is still trying to score points for a wreck a year ago that he caused and was found responsible for. Whatever you think of Max's driving, in that incident and in his response there's not a lot to criticise.

IMHO it says a lot that Lewis is bringing it up again.

Anyways, back to today. I've seen some reports of rain over the weekend. Could be a proper cocktease or maybe we actually get some rain during the race

Did Lewis bring it up again, or did the media ask him the question 20 times until he responded something and they used it as a headline, on which they asked Max 20 times until he responded something?

Weather report I've seen, wet for F3 maybe F2, drying for Porsches and dry by F1
