Lewis back to 90's. Forget the fashion and place those V12 Ferraris with gold rims and black wings

Any news whether F1TV will be ready for Bahrain?
In Spanish but apparently confirming that the launch of F1TV Pro has been further delayed.

The DRS zone down to turn 1 has been extended by 100m, Not sure that was really necessary as it seemed about right last year but whatever.

I do hope nobody who signed up to TVPro is being charged for it with all these delays?

That start/finish DRS zone appears perfectly positioned just far enough down the straight to ensure that this year's cars cannot take advantage of it.

Please prove me catastrophically wrong.

It seems to me if they wanted actual overtaking in T1, they should've added an extra DRS zone towards the final corner

You've never been able to overtake there, but at least a DRS zone there would cut through the dirty air and allow cars to follow closer to line up a move on the start finish straight

But with the development in downforce over even last year, I'm not expecting much

The biggest development will be the proposal Ross Brawn is bringing for F1 future.
Unless there's a significant reduction in downforce, indycar style, we'll be stuck with processions, forever

There were 48 on-track overtakes here last year, Only 18 of which were with the use of DRS. I'd guess most of that was down into turn 4, Get close & make someone defend into T1 which compromises there exit & gives you a run down to T4.
https://www.racefans.net/2018/04/04/sec ... rand-prix/

There was also apparently more overtaking at Melbourne this year (15) than there was last.

Something I was thinking recently is that maybe they should use Friday practice to test DRS. Get some cars to practice some overtaking & evaluate if it needs to be made a bit longer or shorter or maybe doesn't need to be where it is & could be better used elsewhere.

Would maybe help avoid situations where we suddenly turn up on Sunday & find it's a bit too effective or maybe not effective enough.

Shouldn't be a grid penalty, just a fine.
