It's an absurd that Formula One Management don't set any contract with TV stations in order to broadcast Mugello tests live...I'm sure it would be another source of profit If they did so...I'd love watching these tests. By the way, they should bring back unofficial Grand Prix, why not an unofficial race at Mugello? And it still help teams to develop their cars.

Because non-championship GPs cost the same amount of money to run in as a normal GP (a fucking LOT), with basically zero gain.

I've been thinking for a long time that F1 should have one or two non-championship races with reserve drivers. That'd be cool.

Charity auction of children's drawings, signed by F1 drivers

Does anyone want to own one of them? :)

I can understand Webber moving over to Ferrari. He's close to retirement, probably tired of bosses that don't really give a shit whether he stays or goes, and with a year at Ferrari he can treat himself to a sweet Ferrari road car retirement present. The Enzo replacement is out next year is it not?

You're right I guess, If you never have any motivation in the first place, guess you can't lose it.

And sorry, no offense, but your Spanish GP Santander theory reeks of massive conspiracy theory. Kimi was mediocre, not performing near his best, and got taken out of his contract a year early.

You probably didn't see the sarcasm in my initial comment, did you?

In 2008 Kimi was all but mediocre, after Spanish GP he was leading the series, having just win the race from pole, leading every lap and setting the fastest lap.

I believe it was phil1993 who made a great article about Kimi's motivation and put it on the timeline. If you read that, you would know better about his motivation.

I'd love to see an on-board of Mugello in an F1 car ... also, the place looks stunning in pictures.

It's like a rollercoaster! although not sure how good it would be for actual racing, but looks a blast to drive!

Great on-board ... I can imagine why Webber enjoyed it so much in an F1 car. It's an amazing motorcycle racing track, but I'd be dubious about that carrying over to F1 but it would certainly be a spectacular lap ...

After the 2002 title, there was a Ferrari showdown with 4 drivers (Schum/Bar/Burti ? /Badoer ?) putting some laps on the Mugello track in the F1 car.

They raced each other and made some fake passing/slipstreaming down the straight, it looked rather spectacular.

I have it taped on VHS back home, too bad I can't share it, it's probably on youtube though.

Judging by this video, Mugello would provide a lot of fun for drivers and spectators. Of course these overtakes on the video are all fakes, but track seems to be much better than any Tilke garbage.

Here's a Helmet-Cam OnBoard with Massa round Mugello from 2009:

I hope they got it on film...although it never happened in real life, Clay Regazzoni crashing in a wet (Fuji) race in that car.

I would love to have a track like Mugello on the calendar but it is similar to Barcelona(without the stupid last chicane),with lots of fast long sweeping corner, which are great to watch through onboards during FPs and Q, but it would be very hard to overtake on it and people would bash it a lot after the very first race

Mugello is great for racing. Really like racing on it. Hope it appears on iRacing soon.

I liked that, I take out my hat to what Webber said...does it cost so much tell this more times? Does it hurt? We need more that from drivers! The more drivers, journalists, team owners and fans complain about these new racing tracks without soul, the better. Bernie and Tilke would get under pressure from public opinion, that's it.

Jeremy Clarkson has also made public his opinion about Abu Dhabi on a Top Gear edition this year, we need more of that!

That lap is only two tenths quicker than yesterday's fastest laps, so I guess this is quite an accurate lap if you ask me :) Driver is me !

Yes an F1 lap here would be a fantastic ride. MotoGP races are always fantastic too.
