Still not a single word of this on the official F1 website :D If they don't write about it, it didn't happen right?

Why would F1 report on rejecting a team

I don't get what the problem is either. As long as I remember only the top 10 teams get a share of the prize money at the end of the year, that's why Minardi was always so happy to score 1 or 2 points, it made them millions to finish tenth instead of 11th. Let Andretti join, if they finish last they don't get any prize money. What's the problem?

This is a low point for F1.

They reject Andretti's entry on "competition" grounds but those entries in 2010 were allowed in with much fanfare :whistling:

It´s probably with this in mind, because those 3 new for 2010 teams all failed biiiiiiig time and were gone again after a couple of years.
Still, better than no teams.

And those teams failed biiiiiiiiig time because they came in under the assumption F1 would get a budget cap but the other teams threw a hissy fit and it didnt happen after all.

In other news, apparently, according to Italian media, Sainz isnt willing to extend his contract so now they're looking to get Hamilton for 2025..... 8O

They never would have competitive with a budget cap. One of those teams had a car designed without a wind tunnel :8:

So does anybody know what F1’s actual beef with Andretti is? Surely this doesn’t stretch all the way back to his dealings with McLaren?

Talking of McLaren, could someone remind me how many Indy 500 wins they have compared to the “uncompetitive” Andretti organisation? And let’s say anything before the modern period, because that’s what seems to matter to F1, is excluded, so post 2000, or post 1980 if you really wanted to prove a point….

The dead cat has been procured and it is a doozy. Hamilton is expected to join Ferrari next year.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Meanwhile, really strong rumours that Hamilton will move to Ferrari next year, may be announced in the next couple of days.

How conveniently timed rumours to suppress Andretti fiasco

Well, we'll never know.

But just like with Mastercard Lola, people tend to leave out some crucial details while bashing them.

None of them would have set the grid on fire with the proposed budget cap but Its not fully unlikely one of them could have survived

Not exactly an endorsement of Liberty's decision.

I would love to see it happen. His age is probably against him, though. Ferrari would need to have a winning car from the start if he has any chance of an 8th title.

Who would Ferrari get rid of? LeClerc is so fast, but prone to mistakes. Sainz doesn't have that outright pace, but is a safe pair of hands and can still win races.

Leclerc signed a new contract last week. Sainz is heading to Audi.

Hamilton is doing the same he did last time. Joined a new team a year before a big regs change to get settled in the team. It worked for him last time.

But this time he will be 40 by the time he joins that new team.

Well shit, a driver I don't like to my favorite team, much like Vettel in 2015.

That will be tough.
